Piero Pierotti
Piero Pierotti (1 January 1912 – 4 May 1970) was an Italian director, screenwriter and journalist. Life and career Born in Pisa, Pierotti started his career as a journalist, working for ''La Nazione'' and ''Il Nuovo Corriere'', and later founding the newspaper ''Corriere dell'Arno''. After some amateur shorts, he moved to Rome where he enrolled in the courses of directing at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, graduating in 1939. Pierotti later started teaching direction at the University of Pisa, and at the same time he was also active as a documentarist and an assistant director, often collaborating with Raffaello Matarazzo. Active as a screenwriter since 1955, in the late 1950s he made his directional debut with '' L'arciere nero'' and he then directed fifteen films until 1969, being mainly active in the adventure and peplum genres. Amedeo Trilli (9 July 1906 – 30 November 1971) was an Italian film and television actor. Life and career Born in Ronciglione, Viterbo, at very young age Trilli worked as a circus artist, then in 1922 he studied performance at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia and later he started working on stage. He made his film debut in the early days of the sound films, and from the 1940s his presence on the big screen became continuous. One of the most active character actors in Italian genre cinema, Trilli also got some leading roles in a number of low budget films, sometimes credited as Amedeo Novelli. Ignazio Balsamo (25 October 1912 – 7 August 1994) was an Italian film and stage actor. Life and career Born in Catania, Balsamo began his career on stage, being part of several Sicilian language theatrical companies. Attilio Dottesio (16 July 1909 – 12 February 1989) was an Italian film character actor and singer. He appeared in 170 films between 1940 and 1985. Born in Brescia, Dottesio began his career in France, where first he obtained some success as a pop singer and later debuted as an actor in the film ''The Pearls of the Crown'' directed by Sacha Guitry. Loris Gizzi (16 August 1899 – 6 October 1986) was an Italian actor and voice actor. Life and career Born in Rome, after his university studies Gizzi attended a school of dance and singing. He abandoned the courses when he became an employee of Ferrovie dello Stato, reaching the rank of sub-station master. In the 1930s, he discovered his vocation as an actor, attending several dramatic societies.
