Gianpaolo Dozzo
Gianpaolo Dozzo (Quinto di Treviso, 2 October 1954) is a Venetist politician and leading member of the Liga Veneta–Lega Nord. Dozzo joined Liga Veneta in 1982, seven years before the foundation of Lega Nord, and was first elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 1994. He was then re-elected in 1996, 2001, 2006 and 2008, being one of the League's longest-serving MPs. Between 2001 and 2006 Dozzo was under-secretary of Agriculture in Berlusconi II and III Cabinets. In January 2012 Dozzo was appointed floor leader of the party in the Chamber, the first Venetian in that role. Berlusconi III Cabinet
The third Berlusconi government was the cabinet of the government of Italy from 23 April 2005 to 17 May 2006. It was the 58th cabinet of the Italian Republic, and the second cabinet of the XIV Legislature. Formation House of Freedoms did not do as well in the 2003 local elections as it did in the 2001 national elections. In common with many other European governing groups, in the 2004 elections of the European Parliament, gaining 43.37% support. Forza Italia's support was also reduced from 29.5% to 21.0% (in the 1999 European elections Forza Italia had 25.2%). Venetian nationalism (also Venetism, from the Venetian/Italian name, ''venetismo'') is a nationalist, but primarily regionalist, political movement active mostly in Veneto, Italy, as well as in other parts of the former Republic of Venice. Generally speaking, Venetists promote the distinct Venetian identity and the rediscovery of the Republic of Venice's heritage, traditions, culture, and language and/or demand more autonomy or even independence for Veneto from Italy. Italian General Election, 2013 (Veneto)
The Italian general election of 2013 took place on 24–25 March 2013. The election was won in Veneto by the centre-right coalition between The People of Freedom and Lega Nord (31.8%), which lost almost a half of its electorate from 2008. The Five Star Movement was the largest party with 26.3%, followed by the Democratic Party (21.3%) and The People of Freedom (18.7%). Lega Nord, the party of President Luca Zaia, fell from 27.1% to 10.5%. Despite coming third in Veneto, the centre-left coalition led by the Democratic Party obtained the most Chamber seats due to the national majority premium, while the centre-right won the regional majority premium in the Senate race. Berlusconi II Cabinet
The second Berlusconi government was the 57th government of the Italian Republic and the first government of the XIV Legislature. It took office following the 2001 Italian general election, 2001 elections, and held office from 11 June 2001 until 23 April 2005, a total of 1,412 days, or 3 years, 10 months and 12 days. It held office for the longest period in the history of the Republic, and for the second longest period in the history of unified Italy since 1861 (outlasted only by the Mussolini government).
