Giannis Gravanis
Giannis Gravanis ( el, Γιάννης Γραβάνης; 16 January 1958 – 30 April 2012) was a Greek footballer. Career Born in Domokos, Gravanis began playing football with local side Achilles Domokos. Gravanis joined Panionios in July 1977, and played eleven seasons for the club in the Alpha Ethniki, appearing in 269 league matches. He made his Alpha Ethniki debut on 10 January 1978, and helped Panionios win the 1978–79 Greek Cup final against AEK Athens F.C. Gravanis made three appearances for the Greece national football team during 1982. Domokos
Domokos ( el, Δομοκός), the ancient Thaumacus or Thaumace (Θαυμακός, Θαυμάκη), is a town and a municipality in Phthiotis, Greece. The town Domokos is the seat of the municipality of Domokos and of the former Domokos Province. The town is built on a mountain slope overlooking the plain of Thessaly, 38 km from the city of Lamia. History Ancient Modern The area of Domokos became part of Greece in 1881 when the Ottoman Empire ceded Thessaly and a few adjacent areas to Greece. Until 1899, it was part of the Larissa Prefecture. Battle of Domokos In 1897, during the Greco-Turkish War, about 2,000 Italian volunteers under the command of Giuseppe Garibaldi's son, Ricciotti Garibaldi, helped the Greeks in the Battle of Domokos. Panachaiki G.E. (Greek: Παναχαϊκή Γυμναστική Ένωση, ''Panachaiki Gymnastiki Enosi'', "Pan- Achaean Gymnastic Union") is a Greek multi-sport club based in the city of Patras, Greece. The history of Panachaiki began in 1891, when Panachaikos Gymnastikos Syllogos (Pan-Achaean Gymnastic Club) was founded. In 1894, a rival sports club, Gymnastiki Eteria Patron (Gymnastic Company of Patras), was founded in Patras by former Panachaikos' members. It was only in 1923 that the two clubs agreed to merge, forming Panachaiki Gymnastiki Enosi. Throughout a history of over 120 years, Panachaiki's athletes have won several Olympic medals.
