Gianmaria Testa
Gianmaria Testa (17 October 1958 – 30 March 2016) was an Italian singer-songwriter and guitarist. Testa began musical performances in 1990 and in the early 1990s, he won two consecutive top prizes at the Recanati Festival. His first album "Montgolfieres" was issued in 1995 in a collaboration between the French Label Bleu and Harmonia Mundi. Throughout his musical career, Testa continued to work as a station master at the train station in Cuneo, Italy. He sang in Italian and French and his music bears resemblances to folk, jazz and world music. Alba ( pms, label=Piedmontese, Arba; la, Alba Pompeia) is a town and ''comune'' of Piedmont, Italy, in the Province of Cuneo. Label Bleu is a French jazz record label founded by Michel Orier. Orier established the label in the mid-1980s in Amiens and soon after took over directorship of Amiens's cultural center, where he was able to build a recording studio. Harmonia Mundi is an independent record label which specializes in classical music, jazz, and world music (on the World Village label). It was founded in France in 1958 and is now a subsidiary of PIAS Entertainment Group. Its Latin name ''harmonia mundi'' translates as "harmony of the world". History In the 1950s, two music entrepreneurs, Frenchman Bernard Coutaz and German Rudolf Ruby, met by chance on a train journey and started a friendship based on their musical interests.
