Ghurki, Pakistan
Ghurki (Urdu: گھرکی ) is the name of a village on the outskirts of Lahore, Punjab. This village is named after the Ghurki Arain person who was notorious for being a biggest gold smuggler of asia (Haji Muhammad Asghar Ghurki (late)) along with his brothers Yousaf Ghurki, Ashraf Ghurki and Younas Ghurki. He was entitled as Gold King in Magazines of USA. Haji Muhammad Asghar Ghurki was the founder of Ghurki Hospital. Muhammad Asghar Ghurki became the MNA in 1985 in partyless general elections. Khalid Javed Ghurki, brother of Muhammad Asghar Ghurki and son of Haji Muhammad Asghar ghurki (late) belonging to a known political family of Lahore, Khalid was elected on the Pakistan People's Party's ticket in 1989. Punjab (; , ) is one of the four provinces of Pakistan. Arain
Arain (also known as Raeen) are a large Punjabi agricultural tribe with strong political identity and organisation, found mainly in the Pakistani provinces of Punjab and Sindh with a small population in parts of Indian Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Origins The historian and political scientist Christophe Jaffrelot believes that the Arain are displaced farming communities who moved to Punjab from Sindh and Multan as Arab Muslim armies encroached; they originally practised Hinduism but many later converted to Islam. He says that the community is related to the Kamboj Rajput community mainly located in northern India and eastern Pakistan. Samina Khalid Ghurki
Samina Khalid Ghurki (Urdu: ثمینہ خالد گرکی; born 13 August 1956) is a Pakistani politician of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). Ghurki was born on 13 August 1956 in Lahore in Ghurki Arain Family, Punjab and completed her degree at Lahore College for Women in 1976. She was elected to the National Assembly for her first term in 2002 from the constituency of NA-130, the largest in Lahore. She was re-elected in 2008 from the same constituency. She was appointed Federal Minister of Special Education in the cabinet of Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, Federal Minister of Environment and later Federal Minister of National Integration and Heritage in the cabinet of Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf. Wagah ( ur, ) or Wagha (Shahmukhi pnb, ) is a village and union council (UC 181) located in the Wahga Zone near Lahore City District, Pakistan. The town is famous for the Wagah border ceremony and also serves as a goods transit terminal and a railway station between Pakistan and India.
