Obaro Ejimiwe (born 18 January 1983) is a British singer, songwriter and musician better known by his stage name Ghostpoet. His first album, ''Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam'', was shortlisted for the 2011 Mercury Prize. His 2015 album ''Shedding Skin'' was also nominated for the Mercury Music Prize. Following release of his fourth album, ''Dark Days + Canapés'', on 18 August 2017. His fifth album ''I Grow Tired But Dare Not Fall Asleep'' was released on 1 May 2020. History In June 2010, Ghostpoet self-released his first EP ''The Sound of Strangers'' and was later featured in ''The Guardian''s "New Band of the Day". Dark Days + Canapés
''Dark Days + Canapés'' is the fourth album by British vocalist and musician Ghostpoet. Described as a standout track, the first single from the album, "Immigrant Boogie", was released in April 2017. Three more songs, "Trouble + Me", "Freakshow" and "Dopamine If I Do", were also released prior to the album. Music videos were released for "Immigrant Boogie" and "Freakshow". It was produced by Leo Abrahams and mixed by Abrahams and Kristofer Harris. "Woe Is Meee" was the second collaboration of Ghostpoet and Daddy G. ''Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam'' is the debut album of British singer, songwriter and musician Ghostpoet. It was released worldwide on 4 February 2011 on Gilles Peterson's label Brownswood Recordings. The album was shortlisted for the 2011 Mercury Prize, but lost to ''Let England Shake'' by PJ Harvey. Reception Upon its release, ''Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam'' received generally good reviews from music critics. The website Metacritic gives the album an aggregated score of 78/100 while, and as of July 2011, Amazon ranks it at 18 in their list of the top 50 most acclaimed albums of the year so far. Woodpecker Wooliams was the musical moniker of Brighton, UK-based musician Gemma Williams. She produced music as Woodpecker Wooliams from 2009 to 2013, releasing the studio albums ''Diving Down'' (2009) and ''The Bird School of Being Human'' (2012). Williams has since worked on Becky Becky with Peter J D Mason. History Woodpecker Wooliams, consisting of voice, harp, analogue synths and 'noise', began in 2009 after Williams' midwifery training was interrupted by "a sudden and severe illness". Mica Levi (; b. 28 February 1987), also known by their stage name Micachu, is an English singer, songwriter, composer and producer. Levi is classically trained and since 2008 has released experimental pop music with their band Good Sad Happy Bad (formerly Micachu and the Shapes), including the critically praised debut album ''Jewellery'' in 2009. Leo Matthew Abrahams (born 1977 in Camden, London) is an English musician, composer and producer. He has collaborated with a multitude of professional musicians, including Brian Eno, Katie Melua, Imogen Heap, Jarvis Cocker, Carl Barât, Regina Spektor, Jon Hopkins and Paul Simon. After attending the Royal Academy of Music in England, he started his musical career by touring as lead guitarist with Imogen Heap. Nadine Petra Katarina Shah (born 16 January 1986) is a British singer, songwriter and musician. Background Shah was born in Whitburn, South Tyneside, to an English mother from South Shields of part Norwegian ancestry and a Pakistani father. She moved to London at the age of 17 to start her career as a jazz singer. Shortly after moving, she became close friends with Amy Winehouse.
