Ghost Light (band)
Ghost Light is a five-piece American jam band formed in 2017 by Tom Hamilton (Brothers Past, American Babies, Joe Russo's Almost Dead), Raina Mullen, Holly Bowling, Scotty Zwang (Dopapod, RAQ), and Steve Lyons (Nicos Gun). Ghost Light's debut album, Best Kept Secrets, was named one of Glide's top 20 albums of 2019. Ghost Light has performed on major festival stages and in historic venues including Lockn' Festival, Jam Cruise, Electric Forest Festival, Mission Ballroom, Brooklyn Bowl, The Peach Music Festival and Terrapin Crossroads. Ghost Light toured as an opening act for Greensky Bluegrass in the winter of 2020. Brooklyn Bowl
Brooklyn Bowl is a music venue, bowling alley and restaurant in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. Founded in 2009, it is located in the former Hecla Iron Works Building at 61 Wythe Avenue. It is known for its high-tech green construction and variety of musical acts. In 2013 Rolling Stone named Brooklyn Bowl the 20th best music club in the United States. There are additional locations in Las Vegas, Nashville, and Philadelphia. A jam band is a musical group whose concerts (and live albums) are characterized by lengthy improvisational "jams." These include extended musical improvisation over rhythmic grooves and chord patterns, and long sets of music which often cross genre boundaries. Most jam band sets will consist of variations on songs that have already been released as studio recordings. Jam bands are known for having a very fluid structure, often having one song lead into another without any interruption. Turkuaz was an American funk band based in Brooklyn, New York. History Turkuaz originally formed out of Boston's Berklee College of Music scene in 2008 and after moving to New York City, they launched their self-titled debut album in 2011. Within the same year, they also released their sophomore album, ''Zerbert''. Their concept album ''Digitionium'' (inspired by/composed on top of ''The Sword in the Stone'' was released in 2015. Their most recent “posthumous” studio albums, ''Apollyon'', and ''Paradiso'', came out on September 9, 2022. John Brown's Body is an eight-piece reggae and dub band based out of Ithaca, New York and Boston, Massachusetts. They have been together for two decades and have been hailed as "Future Roots, Reggae and Dub with an intricately balanced weaving of vocals, percussion, keyboard, bass, guitar and a stunning three-piece horn section that ties it all together" (WRUV). Greensky Bluegrass
Greensky Bluegrass is a five-piece American bluegrass jam band founded in Kalamazoo, Michigan in mid-2000. The band has evolved over the years, growing from 3 to 5 members, adding electric effects, and touring with a full light show. Partly because of their name, many articles written about the band address the fact that what Greensky does is "not quite" bluegrass. In their own promotional material, GSBG describes their sound as "their own version of bluegrass music, mixing the acoustic stomp of a string band with the rule-breaking spirit of rock & roll".
