Ghayth Armanazi
Ghayth Armanazi (born 1943) is a Syrian media specialist and former diplomat based in London, England. He is a former ambassador of the Arab League and former head of the Arab Bankers Association. He is the author of ''The Story of Syria'' (2017)'','' published by Gilgamesh Publishing. Background He was Head of the London Mission of the Arab League from 1992–2000. He previously worked for the Foreign Ministry of the United Arab Emirates, and also pursued a career in banking. Born in Damascus, Syria, Armanazi was educated at the Universities of Colorado and London. Public roles He currently heads the Syrian Media Centre, London, and is Executive Director of the British-Syrian Society. Armanazi has long been identified with discernibly Syrian diplomatic viewpoints. Golan Heights
The Golan Heights ( ar, هَضْبَةُ الْجَوْلَانِ, Haḍbatu l-Jawlān or ; he, רמת הגולן, ), or simply the Golan, is a region in the Levant spanning about . The British Syrian Society is an association set up to promote relations between the government of Syria and the United Kingdom. It was established in 2003 by Fawaz Akhras, father-in-law of Bashar al-Assad. Its current directors include Akhras, Lord Asquith, Lord Green, Major-General John Holmes, and Peter Ford, former British ambassador to Syria. As part of its lobbying work, the Society has over the years hosted visits to Syria by several Members of Parliament.
