Gharaonda
''Gharaonda'' (''The Nest'') is a 1977 Hindi drama film, produced and directed by Bhimsain. The film stars Amol Palekar, Zarina Wahab, Shreeram Lagoo and Jalal Agha. The music is by Jaidev. Plot ''Gharonda'' explores the lives of Sudip (Amol Palekar) and Chhaya (Zarina Wahab) who belong to the middle class in Mumbai and work in the same office. Chhaya is sharing a one-room flat with her younger brother, her elder brother and sister-in law. Sudip has rented a room with three other men. Sudip and Chhaya fall in love with each other and plan to get married as soon as they have a house made for themselves. In this process, they save every penny to build a corpus for buying a house. 25th Filmfare Awards
The 25th Filmfare Awards were held in 1978. ''Amar Akbar Anthony'' and '' Hum Kisise Kum Naheen'' led the ceremony with 7 nominations each, followed by ''Gharaonda'' and ''Swami'' with 6 nominations each. Bhimsain
Bhimsain (born Bhimsain Khurana; November 24, 1936 – April 17, 2018) was an Indian film director, producer, screenwriter and animator. He is best known as the pioneer of Indian animation, along with his mentor Ram Mohan. He was the recipient of 16 President's National Awards for his contributions to Indian cinema. He is best known for directing the critically acclaimed ''Gharaonda'' (1977) starring Amol Palekar and Zarina Wahab, and ''Dooriyaan'' (1979) starring Sharmila Tagore and Uttam Kumar. He is also known for creating the animation short film ''Ek Anek Aur Ekta'' (1974) which aired on Doordarshan in the 70s. Dr.Shriram Lagoo (16 November 1927 – 17 December 2019) was an Indian film and theatre actor, in Hindi and Marathi, in addition to being an ENT Surgeon. He was known for his character roles in films. He acted in over 250 films including Hindi and Marathi films as well as Hindi, Marathi and Gujarati plays, and directed over 20 Marathi plays. He was also very vocal and active in furthering progressive and rational social causes, for example in 1999, he and social activist G. P. Pradhan undertook a fast in support of anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare. He won the 1978 Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for the Hindi film ''Gharaonda''. Jalal Agha (11 July 1945 – 5 March 1995) was an Indian actor and director in Bollywood films. He was the son of the popular comedian actor Agha. Jalal studied acting at the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.
