The COVID-19 National Trust Fund was established by an act of Parliament (Act 1013) to mobilize funds to be used in complementing the government's efforts to address the COVID-19 pandemic in Ghana. Sophia Akuffo
Sophia Abena Boafoa Akuffo (born 20 December 1949) was the Chief Justice of Ghana from 2017 until 20 December 2019. Prior to that, she had already been a Judge in the Supreme Court of Ghana since 1995. Education The daughter of a Presbyterian minister, she had her secondary education at Wesley Girls' High School, Cape Coast and obtained her Bachelor of law degree from the University of Ghana. She furthered her education at the Ghana School of Law where she qualified as a barrister. Akuffo trained as a lawyer under Nana Akuffo-Addo. She has a Master's degree in Law from Harvard University in USA. Career Sophia Akuffo has been a member of the Governing Committee of the Commonwealth Judicial Education Institute, and the Chairperson of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Task Force for several years. Justice Akrofi
Justice Ofei Akrofi (born 1942) is a Ghanaian Anglican Bishop. He is the former Anglican Bishop of Accra (Ghana) and former archbishop (primate) of the Church of the Province of West Africa. He was elected to that position in 2003, which he held until 2012. The archbishop is married to physician Maria Eugenia Akrofi and they have two children. Education Akrofi studied in Ghana and in the United States at Central Connecticut State College (University), receiving B.Sc. and M.Ed. degrees, and Yale where he graduated in 1976 with a Master of Divinity degree. Later, he taught at Cape Coast University and the University of Ghana before serving as dean of Holy Trinity Cathedral in Accra and later as Bishop of Accra from 1996 to 2012. Gifty Afenyi-Dadzie
Gifty Afenyi Dadzie (born 7 June 1957) is a Ghanaian female journalist, media practitioner, businesswoman and was the longest serving president of the Ghana Journalists Association. She is also a member of the COVID-19 Trust Fund Board of Trustees. Early life Afenyi Dadzie was born to Mr. J. K. Affenyi, a health inspector and later, the director of the Takoradi Port, and her mother Mrs Charity Affenyi, a trader. Education Afenyi Dadzie had her basic education at Tarkwa Methodist Primary School and Mmofraturo Girls' Boarding School in Kumasi and her secondary education at Winneba Senior High School in Winneba from 1970 to 1975 in the Central Region of Ghana. Mrs. Elsie Addo Awadzi is a Ghanaian international economic and financial lawyer with over 25 years of professional experience working in various capacities in Ghana and internationally. She was appointed by H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo The President of the Republic of Ghana as the 2nd deputy governor of the Bank of Ghana in February 2018.
