Geva Films
Geva Films ( he, סרטי גבע, ''Sirtei Geva''), or the Geva film studio and laboratory was one of the first film studios in Israel. It was established in 1949 in the city of Givatayim near Tel Aviv by , Yitzhak Agadati and Yosef Navon. It produced newsreels for cinemas and short films, as well as feature films. Its building was demolished in September 2011 and two residential towers (Geva Towers ( he, מגדלי גבע)) were built in its place. Adi Talmor
Adi Talmor ( he, עדי טלמור, born Judah Reuben November; April 11, 1953 – August 5, 2011) was an Israeli journalist and news presenter. Biography Talmor was born and raised in Ramat Gan to Jewish immigrant parents who were Holocaust survivors. During Talmor's childhood, his father changed the family's surname to the Hebrew name Talmor. When Talmor enlisted in the military in the early 1970s, he attempted to join the Army Radio station but he was refused, and instead he served as an Information security officer in the Israeli Air Force. Talmor was initially rejected by the Army Radio unit due to a medical problem which affected his pronunciation. After Talmor underwent rhinoplasty surgery, his pronunciation improved significantly and as a result he was transferred to the Army Radio unit. Amnon Salomon
Amnon Salomon ( he, אמנון סלומון; April 3, 1940 – October 23, 2011) was an Israeli film cinematographer. He was a recipient of the Ophir Award for cinematography. Biography Salomon was born in Tel Aviv in 1940 to a Hungarian-Jewish father and a Russian-Jewish mother. He started his career in the Geva Studios as an assistant to photographer to the Israeli cinematographer David Gurfinkel, a position he held for four years, during which he also assisted filming Uri Zohar's 1964 avant-garde-satiric film ''Hole in the Moon''. During his career, Solomon filmed 65 films, of which the best-known films included '' Haham Gamliel'' (1973), ''Charlie Ve'hetzi'' (1973), '' Beyond the Walls'' (1985), '' Alex Is Lovesick'' (1986) and ''Cup Final'' (1992). In 2003 the Israeli Academy of Film and Television awarded him a prize for his professional achievement. Baruch Agadati
Baruch Agadati ( he, ברוך אגדתי, also Baruch Kaushansky-Agadati; January 8, 1895 – January 18, 1976) was a Russian Empire-born Israeli classical ballet dancer, choreographer, painter, and film producer and director. Biography Baruch Kaushansky (later Agadati) was born to a Jewish family in Bessarabia, and grew up in Odessa. He immigrated to the region of Palestine in the early 1900s. In Palestine, he was known for performing Jewish folk dances in an expressionist style, often in solo performances he called "concerts" in which he would portray different Shtetl characters. His bohemian stylings -- one performance featured him openly urinating on the back wall of the stage -- scandalized the middle class. Agadati attended the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem from 1910–14. When World War I started in 1914, he was in Russia visiting his parents and was unable to return to Palestine. ''The Flying Matchmaker'' (also: ''Two Kuni Lemel'', ''Shnei Kuni Leml'' or שני קוני למל) is a 1966 Israeli film musical directed by Israel Becker. The story is based on the 1880 Yiddish play ''Di tsvey Kuni-Lemels'' by Abraham Goldfaden. ''Hole in the Moon'' ( he, חור בלבנה; Hor B'Levana) is a 1964 Israeli avant-garde-satiric movie directed by Uri Zohar. The film was heavily influenced by the French New Wave, particularly the films of Jean-Luc Godard. It was a response to the Zionist dramas of the 1950s, and satirizes the form by showing the production of one of these films.
