''Getúlio'' is a 2014 Brazilian biographical drama film written by George Moura and directed by João Jardim, starring Tony Ramos as Brazilian president Getúlio Vargas, based on the final moments of the crisis that led to the death of the then president, during the 19 days before the August 24, 1954. The film was released in Brazil on May 1, 2014, coinciding with the Workers' Day official holiday – in reference to the labor policies implemented by Getúlio. Plot The plot begins in August 1954, after the attempted murder of Carlos Lacerda (Alexandre Borges), owner of the opposition newspaper, then, president Getúlio has to confront with the increasing instability of his government, in addition to the charges of ordering the murder of his political enemy. Getúlio Wandelly Silva Timoteo (born 10 June 1997), simply known as Getúlio, is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a forward for Ventforet Kofu, on loan from Tombense. Club career Born in Major Isidoro, Getúlio started his youth career with Tombense and arrived at the academy of Avaí in 2013. In 2018, he was promoted to the senior team and on 21 January, made his professional debut in the second round of Campeonato Catarinense in a 2–1 victory against Joinville. On 15 February, he scored his first ever goal for the club in a 3–1 victory against Brusque. Although Getúlio suffered an injury in March, he recovered from it before a Copa do Brasil match against Fluminense. Getúlio Dornelles Vargas (; 19 April 1882 – 24 August 1954) was a Brazilian lawyer and politician who served as the 14th and 17th president of Brazil, from 1930 to 1945 and from 1951 to 1954. Due to his long and controversial tenure as Brazil's provisional, constitutional, and dictatorial leader, he is considered by historians as the most influential Brazilian politician of the 20th century. Born in São Borja, Rio Grande do Sul, to a powerful local family, Vargas had a short stint in the Army before entering law school. He began his political career as district attorney, soon becoming a state deputy prior to a brief departure from politics. Getulio Alviani (5 September 1939 in Udine – 24 February 2018 in Milan) was an Italian painter based in Milan. He is considered to be an important International Optical - kinetic artist. Life and work Alviani was born in Udine, where he showed talent for design and geometric drawing from his childhood. He enrolled in the Venice Art School, but soon showed little interest in his studies, spending afternoons in Venice's museums in contemplation of classical masterpieces. He also started doing small jobs for local architects, and helped local artists in inking projects such as etchings. His first series was "The Wires", inspired by aerial electric wires. Getulio Pascua Napeñas, Jr. (born July 18, 1959) is a Filipino politician and retired police officer who served as commander of the Philippine National Police Special Action Force (SAF) from 2013 until 2015. He is blamed for the ill-fated Mamasapano clash but earned praise as a man of principle and a true leader of the people. Education Napeñas graduated in the Philippine Military Academy in 1982. He was one of the officers who was part of the initial batch of officers of the PC SAF, which became the PNP SAF, when it was created May 16, 1983. He was the commander of the Philippine Police Contingent to Kosovo and he was also one of top of his class and training in special action force.
