Jack Harvey (actor And Director)
Jack Harvey (born John Joseph Harvey; September 16, 1881 – November 9, 1954) was an American film actor, director and screenwriter, noted for his short films of the silent period. Among his directed films are '' A Dog's Love'' (1914) (the first of many collaborations with Shep, a well-trained Collie of the Thanhouser Company), ''When Fate Rebelled'' (1915), '' Fairy Fern Seed'' (1915), '' Kaiser's Finish'' (1918) and his last film ''No Babies Wanted'' (1928), accredited as John J. Harvey. He continued to act, but most of his roles after the 1920s were very minor and uncredited in films such as ''Cardinal Richelieu'' (1935) and ''Anchors Aweigh'' (1945). He also continued to write for films until his death in 1954, the last of which was '' City Beneath the Sea'' (1953). George Larkin
George Larkin (November 11, 1887 – March 27, 1946) was an American film actor of the silent era. He appeared in more than 150 films between 1910 and 1931. He was born and died in New York, New York. He was married to actress Ollie Kirkby. In addition to his acting career, Larkin also wrote scripts with his wife, which include '' Bulldog Courage'' (1922) and ''The Pell Street Mystery'' (1924). Larkin starred in both of these films. His archive is held by the University of California. Ollie Kirkby
Ollie Kirkby (September 26, 1886 – October 7, 1964) was an American stage, screen, and vaudeville actress. Biography She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1886 and died in 1964 at Glendale, California. Her entire career, from 1914 to 1925, was dedicated to making short films or film serials. She was known for the dimple on her shoulder and often photographed showing that distinguishing feature. Kirkby began working in films with Kalem in 1912. After two years there, she worked for Favorite Players Company for a year and then returned to Kalem. She married actor George Larkin in 1918. He died in 1946. Rayart Pictures was one of the early film production and distribution companies operating independently of the major Hollywood studios in the United States during the later silent film era from the mid-to-late 1920s and into the early "talkies" era of early films with sound in the late 1920s and early 1930s. It established its own distribution network, specialising in westerns. It was begun by W. Ray Johnston in 1924, after whom the company was named. It was originally created as a low budget release agent, and like the other so-called Poverty Row studios, was based in a small plot off Sunset Strip, by Gower Street.
