Getter Laar
Getter Laar (born 21 November 1989) is an Estonian footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for French club FC Metz and the Estonia national team. Club career In January 2011 Laar spent time training with Chelsea of the English FA WSL, playing in a friendly against Watford. She had ambitions to move abroad but wanted to finish her university education first. She secured a transfer to French Division 1 Féminine club Guingamp in summer 2013, through the contacts of Estonian national coach Keith Boanas. In 2013 Laar was named Estonia's female Player of the Year. Pärnu () is the fourth largest city in Estonia. Situated in southwest Estonia, Pärnu is located south of the Estonian capital, Tallinn, and west of Estonia's second largest city, Tartu. In professional football, a transfer is the action taken whenever a player under contract moves between clubs. It refers to the transferring of a player's registration from one association football club to another. In general, the players can only be transferred during a transfer window and according to the rules set by a governing body (fulfilling the requirements of FIFA, continental and national bodies regulating the purchasing and selling clubs). A negotiated transfer fee is agreed financial compensation paid from an interested club, to the club that possesses the player's exclusive contracted playing rights. The Estonian Football Association (EJL; et, Eesti Jalgpalli Liit) is the governing body of football, beach soccer and futsal in Estonia, established on 14 December 1921. It organizes the football league, including the championship which is called Meistriliiga, Estonian Cup and the Estonian national football team. It is based in Tallinn. EJL became a member of FIFA in 1923, but following Estonia's annexation by the Soviet Union it was disbanded. It became a member again in 1992 after Estonia reinstated its independence.
