"Gett Off" is a song written and produced by American musician Prince for his thirteenth album, ''Diamonds and Pearls'' (1991). The album was his first with his backing band the New Power Generation. "Gett Off" was released as the lead single from ''Diamonds and Pearls'' in June 1991. "Gett Off" was a hit on both sides of the Atlantic, reaching number four in the United Kingdom. In the United States, "Gett Off" went to number 21 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and number six on the ''Billboard'' Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. In addition, "Gett Off" was Prince's seventh and final song to reach number one on the ''Billboard'' Dance Club Songs. It ranked at number 97 in VH1's ''100 Greatest Songs of the '90s''. Funk
Funk is a music genre that originated in African American communities in the mid-1960s when musicians created a rhythmic, danceable new form of music through a mixture of various music genres that were popular among African Americans in the mid-20th century. It de-emphasizes melody and chord progressions and focuses on a strong rhythmic groove of a bassline played by an electric bassist and a drum part played by a percussionist, often at slower tempos than other popular music. "Get Wild" is a song by the New Power Generation, and the first single from their 1995 album, ''Exodus''. The song was a hit in the UK, reaching number 19 in the UK Singles Chart. "Get Wild" is a funk song, in the style of Parliament and Funkadelic. The lead vocals are by Sonny T., Prince who delivers a rap during the bridge, and some Spanish vocals are provided by Mayte. A maxi-single was released with several remixes of the song. A remix of "Get Wild" was played in the 1994 film, ''Prêt-à-Porter'' and was included on the soundtrack album. A video featuring cameo scenes with Lolly Pop and various others was shot at Glam Slam Minneapolis, but was shelved by Warner Brothers. It was released on October 13, 1992, by Paisley Park Records and Warner Bros. Records.
