Club Getafe Deportivo was a Spanish football club based in Getafe, a city in the Madrid metropolitan area, Spain. Founded in 1923 and refounded in 1946, it played six seasons in Segunda División, dissolving in 1983 and being replaced by Getafe CF. 1977–78 Segunda División
The 1977–78 Segunda División season saw 20 teams participate in the second flight Spanish league. Real Zaragoza, Recreativo de Huelva and Celta de Vigo were promoted to Primera División. Real Oviedo, Córdoba CF, CD Tenerife and CF Calvo Sotelo were relegated to Segunda División B. From this season, immediately below Segunda División there is a new league Segunda División B. Thus, Tercera División became the fourth level in the Spanish football pyramid. The 1976–77 Segunda División season saw 20 teams participate in the second flight Spanish league. Sporting de Gijón, Cádiz CF and Rayo Vallecano were promoted to Primera División. Pontevedra CF, Levante UD, CD San Andrés and Barcelona Atlètic were relegated to the new Segunda División B. From this season, there is no relegation playoff.
