Get Your Walk On
"Get Your Walk On" was the third and final single by American rapper Xzibit, from his 2000 album, '' Restless''. The song is produced by Mel-Man and Battlecat. The music video (directed by Smith 'N' Borin') features various footage of Xzibit (both on stage and backstage) during live concerts and while he's with his friends and fans. Staying true with the name of the song, it also features various kids performing the Crip Walk (as well as Xzibit himself). There is a scene where two sets of kids are standing alongside two sides of a pyramid with one side red and the other side blue- referring to the intense rivalry between the Bloods and the Crips. However this could also symbolize the peace treaty between the two conflicting gangs as well. DJ Quik and WC make cameo appearances. William LaShawn Calhoun Jr. (born February 3, 1970), better known by his stage name WC (pronounced "dub-c"), is an American rapper and actor. He originally was a rapper in the group Low Profile and later formed his group WC and the Maad Circle, who first succeeded with the single "Ain't A Damn Thang Changed". The Crips is an alliance of street gangs that is based in the coastal regions of Southern California. The Bloods are a primarily African-American street gang founded in Los Angeles, California. The gang is widely known for its rivalry with the Crips. It is identified by the red color worn by its members and by particular gang symbols, including distinctive hand signs. The Crip Walk, also known as the C-Walk, is a dance move that was created in the 1970s by first generation Crip member Robert "Sugar Bear" Jackson, and has since spread worldwide. Overview The dance is primarily an act of performing quick and intricate footwork. The rivalry between the Crips and the Bloods spilled over into the world of entertainment, with the adoption of the gang dance by various rappers on the West Coast of the United States, who gave it its name, the ''Crip Walk''.
