''Get Up On It'' is the fourth studio album by the American R&B recording artist Keith Sweat. It was released by Elektra Records on June 28, 1994 in the United States and went to number one on the ''Billboard'' Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart for two weeks, while also reaching number eight on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart. Singles from the album include the lead-off single "How Do You Like It?", the title track and "When I Give My Love" – overall were Top 30 R&B hits. The album features collaborations from the late Left Eye of TLC, Roger Troutman of Zapp and up and coming group Kut Klose, which features Athena Cage. Keith Sweat
Keith Sweat (born July 22, 1961) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and an early figure in the new jack swing musical movement. He is known for his collection of hits including "I Want Her", " Make It Last Forever", "I'll Give All My Love to You", "Make You Sweat", "Get Up on It", " Twisted" and "Nobody". He has released 13 solo albums (2 as a part of the R&B supergroup LSG) and discovered the groups Silk and Kut Klose. Early life Keith Sweat was born in Harlem, New York City, to Juanita Thompson, a hairdresser, and Charles Sweat, a factory worker. Juanita raised their five children alone after Charles Sweat's death in 1973. He worked as a night stock boy at Macy's Department Store, and then a mail room clerk at Paine Webber, a brokerage firm. Entouch was an American male Alternative R&B group, composed of Eric McCaine and Eric Smith, also known as Free. They were signed to Elektra Entertainment during the height of the new jack swing era. Lisa Nicole Lopes (May 27, 1971 – April 25, 2002), better known by her stage name Left Eye, was an American rapper and singer. She was a member of the R&B girl group TLC, alongside Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas. Besides rapping and singing backing vocals on TLC recordings, Lopes was one of the creative forces behind the group, receiving more co-writing credits than the other members. Zapp (also known as the Zapp Band, Zapp & Roger) is an American funk band that emerged from Dayton, Ohio, United States, in 1977. Particularly influential in the electro subgenre of funk, Zapp were known for their trademark use of the talk-box effect. The original line-up consisted of four Troutman brothers—frontman Roger, Larry, Lester and Terry—and non-Troutman family members Bobby Glover, Gregory Jackson, Sherman Fleetwood, Jerome Derrickson, Eddie Barber and Shirley Murdock.
