You Am I are an Australian alternative rock band, fronted by its lead singer-songwriter and guitarist, Tim Rogers. ''Dress Me Slowly'' is the fifth studio album by the Australian rock band, You Am I. It was released in April, 2001, by BMG Australia. The album was produced, recorded and mixed by Clif Norrell at Q Studios in Sydney, except for "Beautiful Girl", "Watcha Doin' To Me" and " Kick a Hole in the Sky" which were recorded by Paul McKercher at Sing Sing Studios in Melbourne and mixed by Skip Saylor Studios in Los Angeles. It was the first studio album to feature lead guitarist Davey Lane. "Beautiful Girl", "Watcha Doin' To Me" and " Kick a Hole in the Sky" were all recorded around 6 months after the album was nominally finished, because the band had written them in the interim and simply wanted to include them in the final package. Having signed with an American label, the band was asked to record demos for the first time, and linked with new producers. Timothy Adrian Rogers (born 20 September 1969), known professionally as Tim Rogers, is an Australian musician, actor and writer, best known as the frontman of Australian rock band You Am I. He has also recorded solo albums with backing bands. As of July 2013, Rogers has released 12 albums with You Am I and five solo albums. Early life Born in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, Rogers moved between towns multiple times during his adolescence, including Adelaide and Canberra. Following his primary school years in Applecross, a suburb of Perth, Rogers later became school captain at Sydney school Oakhill College. Rogers studied law at the Australian National University in Canberra, aged 18, though did not complete a degree. Clif Norrell is an American record producer, recording engineer, music mixer, and musician. He has worked with many prominent artists including Bruce Springsteen, R.E.M., Jeff Buckley, No Doubt, Rush, Faith No More, Shania Twain, Mick Jagger, Dave Grohl, Sting, Paul McCartney, Gavin Degraw, Joss Stone, Selena Gomez and The Police.
