Get This
''Get This'' was an Australian radio comedy show which aired on Triple M and was hosted by Tony Martin and Ed Kavalee, with contributions from panel operator, Richard Marsland. A different guest co-host was featured nearly every day on the show and included music played throughout. On the 15 October 2007 episode, the ''Get This'' team announced that Triple M/Austereo would not be renewing the show for 2008. The final broadcast was on 23 November 2007. During its lifetime and since its cancellation, ''Get This'' developed a strong cult following. The ''Get This'' team Guest co-hosts ''Get This'' featured a different guest co-host (both local and international) nearly every day, with Australian comedians, musicians, writers, actors, and old Triple M/EON FM DJs making regular appearances. Tony Martin (comedian)
Anthony Francis Martin (born 10 June 1964) is a New Zealand comedian, writer and actor, who has had a successful TV, radio, stand-up and film career in Australia. Career 1980s A former stand-up comedian and commercial voice-over-man, Tony Martin moved to Brisbane, Australia, from New Zealand when he was 21 to work as a radio copywriter. Having worked in radio and amateur theatre back in NZ, Martin approached the ABCTV's ''The D-Generation'' in 1986 to work as a writer only to be told that filming on the first series had been completed. In the interim, he was invited to work as a researcher on ABC-TV's '' The Gillies Republic'' which was the follow-up to the highly successful political satire ''The Gillies Report'' (1984–85). Triple M
Triple M is an Australian commercial radio network owned and operated by Southern Cross Austereo. The network consists of 40 radio stations broadcasting a mainstream rock music format and 5 digital radio stations. The network dates back to the launch of Triple M Sydney in 1980. On 15 December 2016, the network was amalgamated with the LocalWorks network of regional radio stations. History The first Triple M station was Triple M Sydney, which commenced broadcasting to Sydney on 2 August 1980. Triple M Sydney and then-rival 2Day FM were the first commercial FM radio stations in Sydney. Tom Gleisner
Thomas Edmund Gleisner (born 24 October 1962) is an Australian comedian, television presenter, producer, director, writer, occasional actor and author. Gleisner currently hosts Network 10's ''Have You Been Paying Attention?''. Early life and education Gleisner was educated at Xavier College in Melbourne, Australia. Gleisner attended the University of Melbourne in the 1980s, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws in 1987. He was a law student in University of Melbourne when he began working with Santo Cilauro and Rob Sitch in the 1983 Law Revue ''Legal A.I.D.S.''. Peter Rowsthorn (actor)
Peter Rowsthorn (born 9 February 1963) is an Australian stand-up comedian, actor, writer, MC and host. Early life and education Rowsthorn attended Trinity Grammar School and Rusden College, now part of Deakin University, where he obtained a teaching degree and he worked as a drama teacher, prior to his show business career Career Rowsthorn started performing as half of the comedy and singing duo ''The Cactus Brothers'' in 1983 while studying for his degree. Tripod (band)
Tripod are an Australian musical comedy trio founded by Scod (Scott Edgar), Yon (Simon Hall) and Gatesy (Steven Gates) in 1996. They provide original songs and harmonies, strung together by comic banter. History Live shows Tripod began as buskers in Melbourne malls, performing a far-fetched prop act of which no record exists. They emerged as a musical act from the thriving Melbourne live music pub scene of the mid nineties, supporting popular local cover bands in such places as the Station Hotel, The Esplanade, the Central Club, the New Orleans Tavern and the Ritz, St Kilda. Cal Wilson
Cal Wilson (born 5 October 1970) is a New Zealand stand-up comedian, author, radio and television presenter. Early life After attending high school in Christchurch, New Zealand, Wilson completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Canterbury. Comedy career She co-founded the Court Jesters improv group in 1990 and was part of the New Zealand team that won the World Theatresports title in Los Angeles in 1994. Glenn Maxwell Robbins (born 30 December 1957) is an Australian comedian, writer, actor, television and radio presenter. Fifi Box
Fiona Box is an Australian radio broadcaster, television presenter and actress. Career Box's early career was spent in regional Australia working at stations 2MC/ROXFM Port Macquarie, 3TR Traralgon and 3GG Warragul. In 2000, Box co-hosted a late-night show on TTFM Melbourne and within months, was picked up by the Triple M network to co-host a national night show based on relationships. Gregory Fleet is an Australian comedian and actor. History Early life Fleet was born in Michigan, in the United States. His father moved the family to Australia when Greg was four. Ross Markham Noble (born 5 June 1976) is an English stand-up comedian and actor. A cult following refers to a group of fans who are highly dedicated to some person, idea, object, movement, or work, often an artist, in particular a performing artist, or an artwork in some medium.
