"Get Down (You're the One for Me)" is a song by American boy band Backstreet Boys. It was released on April 30, 1996 as the third single from their international self-titled debut album (1996). It was later included on their US debut album. Background In some countries "Get Down" was released as their debut single. The song features a rap in the second verse by both Smooth T. of the group Fun Factory, and band member AJ McLean. When performed live, other than a few isolated cases in which Smooth T. was able to join the band, McLean raps alternate lyrics during Smooth T.'s verse. The alternate first rap verse was recorded for the song, and was used in the Markus Plastik Vocal Remix of the song is: "So get ready - ready for the flavor we are bringin' / It's time I set it off and get your body swingin' / When we're alone, girl, I wanna push up / Can I get it? The Canadian Singles Chart was a chart compiled by the American-based music sales tracking company, Nielsen SoundScan, which began publication in November 1996. A maxi single or maxi-single (sometimes abbreviated to MCD or CDM) is a music single release with more than the usual two tracks of an A-side song and a B-side song. The first maxi singles Mungo Jerry's first single, "In the Summertime" was the first maxi single in the world. The twelve-inch single (often written as 12-inch or 12″) is a type of vinyl ( polyvinyl chloride or PVC) gramophone record that has wider groove spacing and shorter playing time with a 'single' or a few related sound tracks on each surface, compared to LPs (long play) which have several songs on each side.
