The Get Closer 2011 World Tour was the seventh headlining tour by Australian country music singer Keith Urban, in support of his seventh studio album '' Get Closer'' (2010). It began on 8 April 2011 in Adelaide, Australia and ended on 15 October 2011 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The tour visited both Australia and North America. Background The Australian leg of the tour was first announced 13 December 2010. The North American leg of the tour was first announced on 22 November 2010. Keith Lionel Urban (born 26 October 1967) is an Australian-American musician, singer, guitarist and songwriter known for his work in country music. Recognized with four Grammy Awards, Urban also received fifteen Academy of Country Music Awards, including the Jim Reeves International Award, thirteen CMA Awards and six ARIA Music Awards. Waylon Jennings (June 15, 1937 – February 13, 2002) was an American singer, songwriter, musician, and actor. He pioneered the Outlaw Movement in country music. Jennings started playing guitar at the age of eight and performed at age fourteen on KVOW radio, after which he formed his first band, The Texas Longhorns. Jennings left high school at age sixteen, determined to become a musician, and worked as a performer and DJ on KVOW, KDAV, KYTI, KLLL, in Coolidge, Arizona, and Phoenix. In 1958, Buddy Holly arranged Jennings's first recording session, and hired him to play bass. Jennings gave up his seat on the ill-fated flight in 1959 that crashed and killed Holly, J. P.
