Gesa Hansen
Gesa Hansen (born 1981 in Arnsberg) is a German-Danish designer. Education Hansen graduated from the Bauhaus University (Germany) and from NZU, NZU, Nagoya University of Arts, (Japan). Career Hansen enhanced her training in Paris working for Jean Nouvel Atelier and H5 (French company), H5 but also in Japan at the Nippon Design Center. Following a long family tradition of Danish designers, she founded her design studio in 2009: ''The Hansen Family''. Hansen's work was exhibited at DesignMai in Berlin (Germany), at 100% Design festival in Seoul (Korea), at Artlab in Brussels (Belgium), at Benetton Group's Fabrica research centre in Treviso and Bologna (Italy), at Milan Furniture Fair, Salone del Mobile (Italy), at ICFF in New-York and at Meet My Project in Paris and in Milan. Arnsberg
Arnsberg (; wep, Arensperg) is a town in the Hochsauerland county, in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is the location of the Regierungsbezirk Arnsberg administration and one of the three local administration offices of the Hochsauerlandkreis district. Bauhaus University
The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is a university located in Weimar, Germany, and specializes in the artistic and technical fields. Established in 1860 as the Great Ducal Saxon Art School, it gained collegiate status on 3 June 1910. In 1919 the school was renamed Bauhaus by its new director Walter Gropius and it received its present name in 1996. There are more than 4000 students enrolled, with the percentage of international students above the national average at around 27%. In 2010 the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar commemorated its 150th anniversary as an art school and college in Weimar. Jean Nouvel
Jean Nouvel (; born 12 August 1945) is a French architect. Nouvel studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and was a founding member of ''Mars 1976'' and ''Syndicat de l'Architecture'', France’s first labor union for architects. He has obtained a number of prestigious distinctions over the course of his career, including the Aga Khan Award for Architecture (for the Institut du Monde Arabe which Nouvel designed), the Wolf Prize in Arts in 2005 and the Pritzker Prize in 2008. H5 (French Company)
H5 is a French design and animation studio founded by Ludovic Houplain and Antoine Bardou-Jacquet in 1994. Under Houplain's art direction, H5's work can mostly be found in the fields of music videos (visuals for Air, Super Discount, Etienne de Crécy, Röyksopp, Le Tone, Alex Gopher, Darkel, Cosmo Vitelli and Demon) and luxury advertising (Dior, Cartier, Hugo Boss, Hermès and Lancôme). Since 1999, H5 has also worked as a collective of directors. They also made their first animated clips, such as animated typography for Alex Gopher, a cartoon for Zebda, digital animations for Super Furry Animals and Playgroup. Fabrica Research Centre
Fabrica (est. 1994) is a communications research centre in Treviso, Italy financed by the Benetton Group. It produces ''Colors'' magazine amongst other projects. The centre aims to combine culture with industry and offers young people the opportunity for creative growth and multicultural, multidisciplinary interchange. The centre is housed in a 17th-century villa near Villorba, restored and significantly enlarged by architect Tadao Ando. It was originally under the guidance of Godfrey Reggio and Oliviero Toscani. Previous directors include Laura Pollini and Dan Hill. Young artists, designers, journalists and makers from around the world are invited to the centre and given a one-year scholarship, covering travel expenses, allowance and professional training and resources. The Red Dot Design Award is a German international design prize awarded by Red Dot GmbH & Co. KG. There are prize categories for product design, brands and communication design, and design concept. Since 1955, designers and producers can apply for the prizes, with the winners being presented in an annual ceremony. Winning products are presented among others in the ''Red Dot Design Museum'' on the premises of the historical Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex in Essen. The Red Dot Design Museum Essen, the first Red Dot Design Museum, was built in 1997. The second Red Dot Design Museum was built in Singapore in 2005. Good Design Award (Chicago)
The Chicago Athenaeum is a private museum of architecture and design, based in Galena, Illinois. The museum focuses on the art of design in all areas of the discipline: architecture, industrial and product design, graphics, landscape architecture, and urban planning. Among its goals is to advance public education on how design can positively impact the human environment. The museum awards numerous prizes for architecture and design. History The museum was founded in 1988 in Chicago and 1998 moved to Schaumburg, Illinois and in 2004 on to Galena, Illinois. The museum in Galena is located in a former brewery building (Fulton Brewery, later Galena Brewery, Eulberg & Sons). In Schaumburg, the museum occupied an old barn at 190 S. Roselle Rd., before the village evicted it in 2004. The Museum also maintained an International Sculpture Park with works of contemporary art. Imm Cologne
The imm Cologne (internationale möbelmesse) is an international, publicly open furniture trade show held at ''Koelnmesse'' exhibition centre in Cologne, Germany, every year in January. The exhibition's primary focus is contemporary furniture and interior design, but it also showcases innovative materials and fabrics and the latest architectural lighting design technology.
