Gervase of Bazoches, who is also known as Gervaise (died in Damascus in May 1108), was Prince of Galilee from 1105/1106 until his death. He was born into a French noble family but migrated to the Holy Land, where King Baldwin I of Jerusalem made him senechal in the early 1100s and appointed him prince of Galilee in 1105/1106. Gervase was captured during a raid by Toghtekin, atabeg of Damascus, who had Gervase executed after Baldwin I refused to surrender three important towns in exchange for Gervase's release. Early life The contemporaneous Guibert of Nogent described Gervase as a "knight ... of noble blood, from the castle of Basilcas in Soissons". Albert of Aix referred to Gervase as "a famous and very noble man who was born in the realm of western France". Gervase's brother Hugh was lord of Bazoches-sur-Vesles, a village near Soissons. They were related to the lords of Milly. Gervase was the advocate of the church in Mont-Notre-Dame before he settled in the Holy Lan ...

Claude Gervaise
Claude Gervaise (1525–1583) ; these dates are contradicted by other sources was a French composer, editor and arranger of the Renaissance, who is remembered mainly for his association with renowned printer Pierre Attaingnant, and for his instrumental music. Life Little research has been done on Gervaise's life, and details are known only of the period in which he was active in Paris as an assistant to Attaingnant. François Armand Gervaise
François Armand Gervaise (1660–1761) was a French Discalced Carmelite and historian. Life Gervaise was born at Paris. Having been nominated prior of a convent, he chanced to meet Bossuet, who recognized in him a learned writer, and an eloquent orator. He entered La Trappe in 1695, where he became the disciple of Armand Jean le Bouthillier de Rancé, and made his profession in 1696. In the same year, Zozime Foisil, who had succeeded de Rancé after his resignation, died after a few months of administration, and de Rancé then asked the king, with the pressing recommendation of Bossuet, for Gervaise as his second successor. On 20 October 1696, he received the abbatial blessing. But his turbulent administration, which in several points was opposed to that of de Rancé, soon made for him numerous enemies. Gervaise resigned in 1698. Soon, however, he regretted this step and tried to withdraw his resignation, but without success. Under the abbot chosen to fill his place he left ...

Cyclone Gervaise
In meteorology, a cyclone () is a large air mass that rotates around a strong center of low atmospheric pressure, counterclockwise in the Northern Hemisphere and clockwise in the Southern Hemisphere as viewed from above (opposite to an anticyclone). Cyclones are characterized by inward-spiraling winds that rotate about a zone of low pressure. The largest low-pressure systems are polar vortices and extratropical cyclones of the largest scale (the synoptic scale). Warm-core cyclones such as tropical cyclones and subtropical cyclones also lie within the synoptic scale. Mesocyclones, tornadoes, and dust devils lie within smaller mesoscale. Upper level cyclones can exist without the presence of a surface low, and can pinch off from the base of the tropical upper tropospheric trough during the summer months in the Northern Hemisphere. Cyclones have also been seen on extraterrestrial planets, such as Mars, Jupiter, and Neptune. Cyclogenesis is the process of cyclone formation and ...
