Frank Gerstle
Francis M. Gerstle (September 27, 1915 – February 23, 1970) was an American character actor who appeared in supporting roles in numerous films, radio programs and TV shows following World War II. Biography Gerstle's notable appearances included '' Outside the Wall''. In television, he appeared in ''The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show'' in the episode ''Surprise Birthday Party'', he portrayed Dick Gird in 6 episodes of ''The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp''. He portrayed a highway patrolman on ''Highway Patrol'', in an episode known as ''Father Thief.'' His final appearance was in the episode ''San Francisco International'' in ''San Francisco International Airport'' which aired on September 29, 1970. Gary Gerstle
Gary Gerstle (born 1954) is an American historian and academic. He is the Paul Mellon Professor of American History at the University of Cambridge, and a Fellow of Sidney Sussex College. Early life Gary Gerstle received his BA from Brown University in 1976 and his PhD from Harvard University in 1982. Academic career Gerstle taught at Catholic University of America and Princeton University, before moving to the University of Maryland, where he was Director of the Center for Historical Studies (2000–2003) and Chair of the Department of History (2003–2006). He joined the Department of History faculty at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee in 2006. In the 2012/2013 academic year, he was the Harmsworth Visiting Professor of American History at the University of Oxford. Harry Lee "Hal" Gerstle (July 12, 1880 – December 9, 1929) was an American college football player and lumber dealer. He attended the Bingham Military School. Gerstle played for the Virginia Cavaliers football team. He scored the only points against Penn in 1899. He was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He married Carrie Glenn Whiteside.
