Gerry Ryan
Gerard Ryan (4 June 1956 – 30 April 2010) was an Irish presenter of radio and television employed by Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ). He presented ''The Gerry Ryan Show'' on radio station RTÉ 2fm each weekday morning from 1988 until hours before his sudden death. He was presented with a Jacob's Award for this show in 1990. Ryan hosted several series of television shows, including ''Secrets'', '' Gerry Ryan Tonight'', ''Ryantown'', ''Gerry Ryan's Hitlist'', ''Ryan Confidential'' and the first three series of '' Operation Transformation''. In 1987, he earned notoriety and the moniker "Lambo" after an unpleasant incident in Connemara. He was also noted for co-presenting, with Cynthia Ní Mhurchú, Eurovision Song Contest 1994 and, in 2008, presenting an edition of '' The Late Late Show'', television's longest-running chat show, in place of the then regular host Pat Kenny. Gerry Ryan (footballer)
Gerry Ryan (born 4 October 1955) is a former Irish professional football player who was born in Dublin. Ryan began his career at Bohemians on 9 February 1975 and after 14 goals in 53 appearances he earned him a move to Derby County in 1977. He was later moved to Brighton for £100,000 with whom he played in the 1983 FA Cup Final against Manchester United before his career was ended in 1985 after a broken leg sustained in a tackle from Crystal Palace's Henry Hughton. He played eighteen times for Ireland between 1978 and 1984. Ryan made his debut in April 1978, when he played in a 4-2 win against Turkey in a friendly at Lansdowne Road. His only goal for Ireland came over a year later at the same venue, but it was only a consolation effort as Ireland lost 3-1 to West Germany in a friendly. Gerard "Gerry" Thomas Ryan (born ) is an Australian businessman, investor, racehorse owner and sports enthusiast. According to the ''Financial Review'' Rich List 2018 his net worth was assessed at 487 million, as Australia's 176th richest person. He is the owner and founder of Jayco Australia, as well as owning wineries, resorts, the theatrical company Global Creatures, the Jayco Southside Flyers in the Women's National Basketball League, and is part-owner of online retailer BikeExchange and My Local Group.
