Gerrie Labuschagné
Gerhardus Jacobus Labuschagné (born 5 December 1995) is a South African rugby union player who plays for the Houston SaberCats in Major League Rugby (MLR). He previously played for Yamaha Júbilo in the Japanese Top League. He is a utility back that can play as a fullback, centre, wing or fly-half. Rugby career Youth rugby and Free State XV Labuschagné was born in Springs and went to high school in nearby Brakpan. However, he was never selected to represent his local team at any provincial schoolboy tournaments. After high school, he moved to Bloemfontein, where he was included in the squad. In July 2014, a video went viral of Labuschagné successfully kicking a penalty from 80m out during a training session at the University of the Free State. Springs is a former independent city that is now part of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, City of Ekurhuleni, based in the east of Johannesburg East Rand, (East Rand), in Gauteng Province, South Africa. It lies 50 km (31 mi) east of Johannesburg and 72 km (45 mi) southeast from Pretoria. The 2015 Under-21 Provincial Championship Group A was contested from 10 July to 24 October 2015. The competition (also known as the ''ABSA Under-21 Provincial Championship'' for sponsorship reasons) was the top tier of 2015 edition of the Under-21 Provincial Championship, an annual Under-21 inter-provincial rugby union competition featuring fifteen South African provincial unions. Eastern Cape
The Eastern Cape is one of the provinces of South Africa. Its capital is Bhisho, but its two largest cities are East London and Gqeberha. The Vodacom Cup was an annual rugby union competition in South Africa. Annual Vodacom Cup competitions were played between its inaugural season in 1998 and 2015 and was contested between February and May each year. The Vodacom Cup was the successor of the Bankfin Nite Series which was played in 1996 and 1997. Mobile communications provider Vodacom was the title sponsor for the entire duration of the competition. The competition was the third most prestigious in South African rugby, behind Super Rugby and the Currie Cup.
