Germany In The Eurovision Song Contest 2004
Germany participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 with the song " Can't Wait Until Tonight" written by Stefan Raab. The song was performed by Max. Songwriter Stefan Raab represented Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest 2000 with the song " Wadde hadde dudde da?" where he placed fifth in the competition. The German entry for the 2004 contest in Istanbul, Turkey was selected through the national final ''Germany 12 Points!'', organised by the German broadcaster ARD in collaboration with Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR). The national final took place on 19 March 2004 and featured ten competing acts with the winner being selected through two rounds of public televoting. "Can't Wait Until Tonight" performed by Max was selected as the German entry for Istanbul after placing first in the top two during the first round of voting and ultimately gaining 853,688 votes in the second round. Maximilian Nepomuk Mutzke (born 21 May 1981) is a German singer, songwriter and television personality. He gained public interest in early 2004 when he won ''SSDSGPS'', a talent contest hosted in Stefan Raab's late-night show ''TV total''. VIVA (German TV Channel)
VIVA (abbreviation for: translating to "Video Exploitation Facility") was a German free-to-air music television channel, first broadcast on 1 December 1993. The channel was intended to compete against MTV Europe and was the first German-language music TV channel, while MTV was only broadcast in English until the introduction of MTV Germany in 1997. It was also supposed to focus more on German music and pop culture while MTV only broadcast anglophone music by artists mostly from North America, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Australia. After years of competition for audience share, MTV Networks Europe eventually acquired VIVA on 14 January 2005 after it had outrun its own efforts for better ratings. Patrick Nuo (born 31 August 1982) is a Swiss singer. Early life Nuo was born and raised in Lucerne, Switzerland, where he lived till the age of 17. His mother is Swiss and his father is an ethnic Albanian from Kosovo. He has a younger brother, Simon. Sarah Kuttner (born 29 January 1979) is a German television presenter and author. Biography Kuttner was born in Berlin. Her father is famed radio host Jürgen Kuttner.
