Joe Geri
Joe Geri (October 20, 1924 – April 20, 2002) was an American Football quarterback-running back who played four seasons for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Chicago Cardinals from 1949 to 1952 in the National Football League. He was a two time Pro Bowler in 1950 and 1951. He is a member of the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame. Janette Geri
Janette Geri (1961 – 29 June 2018) was an Australian singer-songwriter. Geri was born in the Sydney suburb of Darlinghurst in 1961. Her style, sometimes compared to Joni Mitchell's, incorporated Celtic, soul, jazz-blues and folk music. She performed with international artists including Jean Paul Wabotai, Abdul TJ Rokoto, the Fureys and Maria Forde. Geri's compositions "The Return" and "Olliebod's Jig" (written with Mykl Losin) featured on the ''Celtic Paradise'' (Best of International Celtic Artists) album, and "The Return" was selected for inclusion on the ABC Airplay album vol.1 in 1998. This album was designed to collect some of the sought after and hard-to-find songs heard on ABC Local Radio and make them available to ABC listeners. Its success led to the annual release of ABC Airplay CDs. Ya'akov Geri
Ya'akov Geri ( he, יעקב גרי, born 18 September 1901, died 18 December 1974), also known as Jack Gering. was an Israeli lawyer who served as Minister of Trade and Industry between November 1950 and October 1951, although he never was a Knesset member. Born in Seda in the Russian Empire (today in Lithuania), Geri later moved to South Africa. He studied law and humanities at the University of the Witwatersrand and the University of Johannesburg, and worked as a lawyer for several years before emigrating to Mandatory Palestine in 1934. After arriving in Israel he initially worked for Dov Yosef's law firm before being appointed secretary of the Africa Palestine Investment Company in 1935.
