Corinna Belz
Corinna Belz is a German documentary filmmaker. She is known for the films '' Gerhard Richter Painting'' (2011), '' Peter Handke: In the Woods, Might Be Late'' (2016) and '' Inside the Uffizi'' (2021). Life and career Corinna Belz studied philosophy, art history and media studies in Cologne and Berlin. After her first film about Gerhard Richter's Cologne Cathedral Window (2007), Belz made the feature length documentary '' Gerhard Richter Painting'' (2011). In 2017, Richter and Belz developed the abstract film ''Moving Picture (946-3)'', for which Steve Reich wrote the composition "Reich/Richter". The piece was performed in New York City in 2019 by Ensemble Signal, at the Barbican Centre in London, Philharmonie de Paris and other European venues. Thomas Kufus
Thomas Kufus (born 1957) is a German film producer especially known for documentary films. Life and career Thomas Kufus was born in Essen in 1957. He began his filmmaking career as a director but switched to producing, becoming known as one of Germany's most influential producers of documentary films. He co-founded the production company zero one film which he since 2008 runs together with . Among the directors he has produced films for are Lars Kraume, Andres Veiel, Anne Zohra Berrached, Julia Albrecht, Markus Imhoof, Christian Schwochow, Corinna Belz, Arnon Goldfinger and Alexander Sokurov. In 2009 he produced ', a project where 80 cameramen each documented 24 hours in Berlin, with 1440 hours of footage broadcast on Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg and Arte. Gerhard Richter
Gerhard Richter (; born 9 February 1932) is a German visual artist. Richter has produced abstract as well as photorealistic paintings, and also photographs and glass pieces. He is widely regarded as one of the most important contemporary German artists and several of his works have set record prices at auction. Personal life Childhood and education Richter was born in Hospital Dresden-Neustadt in Dresden, Saxony, and grew up in Reichenau (now Bogatynia, Poland), and in Waltersdorf (Zittauer Gebirge), in the Upper Lusatian countryside, where his father worked as a village teacher. Gerhard's mother, Hildegard Schönfelder, gave birth to him at the age of 25. Hildegard's father, Ernst Alfred Schönfelder, at one time was considered a gifted pianist. Ernst moved the family to Dresden after taking up the family enterprise of brewing and eventually went bankrupt. The current category was introduced in 2000, although numerous similar categories were in existence going back all the way to 1951.
