Gerhard Graf-Martinez
Gerhard Graf-Martinez (born 1952 in Schorndorf, Baden-Württemberg) is a German Jewish Flamenco guitarist, author and composer. In 1982, he founded the Flamenco-Jazz trio “Modo Nuevo”. Being a member of the “Peña Flamenca Sierra Blanca Marbella”, he hosted the “Curso Internacional De La Guitarra Flamenca” in Marbella (Málaga) between 1984 and 1987. From 1987 to 1989, he performed as a duo together with a Jewish singer. Between 1989 and 1996, Graf-Martinez was regularly invited as docent to numerous international guitar seminars. He established “Guitar Days” in his home town, which he led until 1994. During 1989 and 1996, he was touring throughout Europe together with his wife, the flamenco dancer Lela de Fuenteprado. After that, Graf-Martinez worked more and more as an author. Since then he has worldwide published more than eight books - educational books with CDs, CD-ROM an DVDs - in English and in German. Metronome
A metronome, from ancient Greek μέτρον (''métron'', "measure") and νομός (nomós, "custom", "melody") is a device that produces an audible click or other sound at a regular interval that can be set by the user, typically in beats per minute (BPM). Metronomes may include synchronized visual motion. Musicians use the device to practise playing to a regular pulse. A kind of metronome was among the inventions of Andalusian polymath Abbas ibn Firnas (810–887). In 1815, German inventor Johann Maelzel patented his mechanical, wind-up metronome as a tool for musicians, under the title "Instrument/Machine for the Improvement of all Musical Performance, called Metronome". In the 20th century, electronic metronomes and software metronomes were invented. Musicians practise with metronomes to improve their timing, especially the ability to stick to a regular tempo. Logic Pro is a digital audio workstation (DAW) and MIDI music sequencer, sequencer software application for the macOS platform. It was originally created in the early 1990s as Notator Logic, or Logic, by German software developer C-Lab which later went by Emagic. GarageBand is a line of digital audio workstations developed by Apple Inc. for macOS, iPadOS, and iOS devices that allows users to create music or podcasts. Cubase is a digital audio workstation (DAW) developed by Steinberg for music and MIDI recording, arranging and editing. The first version, which was originally only a MIDI sequencer and ran on the Atari ST computer, was released in 1989. New flamenco (or ''nuevo flamenco'') or flamenco fusion is a musical genre that was born in Spain, starting in the 1980s.
