Gergely Harsányi
Gergely János Harsányi (born 3 May 1981) is a Hungarian handballer, who retired from professional handball in 2018 and currently plays for Tatai AC in the Hungarian second division. Career Harsányi started his professional career at his hometown club Nyíregyházi KC, before moving to PLER KC. He spent a decade with the Pestszentlőrinc-based team and captured a Hungarian Cup bronze in 2007. In the 2007–2008 season, he played handball in the German Bundesliga, Frisch Auf Göppingen, and then returned to PLER KC after 1 season. He signed to Ferencvárosi TC in the summer of 2009, however, after financial difficulties with the club were revealed, Harsányi was transferred to Tatabánya-Carbonex KC in the winter break to ease the growing troubles at the club. He retired from professional handball in 2018. His first major international tournament was the 2004 Summer Olympics, where the Hungarian team placed fourth. World Men's Handball Championship
The IHF Men's Handball World Championship has been organized indoor by the International Handball Federation since 1938. In the twenty-seven tournaments held, eleven nations have won the title. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. The Hungarian Order of Merit ( hu, Magyar Érdemrend) is the fourth highest State Order of Hungary. Founded in 1991, the order is a revival of an original order founded in 1946 and abolished in 1949. Its origins, however, can be traced to the Order of Merit of the Kingdom of Hungary which existed from 1922 until 1946. Magyar Kupa (men's Handball)
Magyar Kupa (English: Hungarian Cup) is the main domestic cup for Hungarian men's team handball clubs, which is organized and supervised by the Hungarian Handball Federation. The competition is held annually, starting in September and concluding in April. The teams play in a one-leg knockout system with a final four tournament in the end. The winner of the Hungarian cup get the right to participate in the next year's EHF Cup Winners' Cup, unless they secure a place in the EHF Champions League.
