Gerd A. Müller
Gerd Alfred Müller (1932 in Frankfurt am Main — December 6, 1991) was a German industrial designer. Müller's notable works include products for Braun and Lamy, Including Lamy's flagship product, the Lamy 2000. Career In 1952, Müller began attending the Werkkunstschule Wiesbaden. In 1955, he started working at Braun Braun is a common surname, originating from the German word for the color brown. The name is the 22nd most common family name in Germany. Many German emigrants to the United States also changed their name to ''Brown'' (''see Brown (surname)'') ..., where he worked for 5 years before departing in 1960. Lamy
Lamy is a German pen manufacturing company. Josef Lamy, who was a sales representative for Parker Pen in Germany, founded the business in 1930 by purchasing the Orthos pen manufacturer. Lamy was a pioneer in the use of moulded synthetic plastics to make their products. Lamy was run by Josef Lamy's son, Manfred, until his retirement in 2006. He was succeeded by Bernhard M. Rösner. Products manufactured by Lamy include fountain, ballpoint pens, and mechanical pencils. History In 1984, newspapers reported that Lamy's export share increased to 33 percent of turnover. Werkkunstschule Wiesbaden
A Kunstgewerbeschule (English: ''School of Arts and Crafts'' or S''chool of Applied Arts'') was a type of vocational arts school that existed in German-speaking countries from the mid-19th century. The term Werkkunstschule was also used for these schools. From the 1920s and after World War II, most of them either merged into universities or closed, although some continued until the 1970s. Students generally started at these schools from the ages of 16 to 20 years old, although sometimes as young as 14, and undertook a four-year course, in which they were given a general education and also learnt specific arts and craft skills such as weaving, metalwork, painting, sculpting, etc. Some of the most well known artists of the period had been Kunstgewerbeschule students, including Anni Albers, Peter Behrens, René Burri, Otto Dix, Karl Duldig, Horst P.
