Gerald Perry (American Football)
Gerald Perry (born November 12, 1964) is a former American football offensive tackle who played eight seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Broncos in the second round of the 1988 NFL Draft. He started in Super Bowl XXIV for the Denver Broncos. He was a star basketball player in high school, winning the honor of the state's Mr. Basketball in 1983 as a center for Dreher High School Dreher High School is a co-educational four-year public high school in Richland County School District One located in Columbia, South Carolina, United States. Tackle (gridiron Football Position)
Tackle is a playing position in gridiron football. Historically, in the one-platoon system prevalent in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, a tackle played on both offense and defense. In the modern system of specialized units, offensive tackle and defensive tackle are separate positions, and the stand-alone term "tackle" refers to the offensive tackle position only. The offensive tackle (OT, T) is a position on the offensive line, left and right. Like other offensive linemen, their job is to block: to physically keep defenders away from the offensive player who has the football and enable him to advance the football and eventually score a touchdown.
