Gerald Carr (American Football)
Gerald N. Carr (born June 28, 1959) is a former American football quarterback and coach. He played college football at Southern Illinois before starting a coaching career that spanned from 1981–2012 with North Mecklenburg High School, Southern Illinois, Davidson, Akron, Washington State, Arizona, North Carolina, the Philadelphia Eagles, Wake Forest, the Carolina Cobras, Indiana, Kentucky, Baylor, Buffalo, Southern, and the Virginia Destroyers. Early life and education Carr was born on June 28, 1959, in Davidson, North Carolina. He went to high school in Huntersville, North Carolina, at North Mecklenburg. He was offered a full scholarship from Southern Illinois University following high school. After his first season, Carr left the school's football team upon his family's request. He rejoined the team early in the 1978 season following an injury to starting quarterback John Cernak. Colonel Gerald Paul Carr (August 22, 1932August 26, 2020) was an American mechanical and aeronautical engineer, United States Marine Corps officer, naval aviator, and NASA astronaut. He was commander of Skylab 4, the third and final crewed visit to the Skylab Orbital Workshop, from November 16, 1973, to February 8, 1974. Early life and education Carr was born in Denver, Colorado, on August 22, 1932, but was raised in Santa Ana, California, which he considered his home town. He was the son of Thomas E. Carr and Freda L. () Carr. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America where he achieved its highest rank, Eagle Scout. Carr graduated from Santa Ana High School in Santa Ana in 1950. Carr received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Southern California (USC) in 1954, where he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Gerald Carr is an Australian comic book writer, artist and illustrator, best known for his creations, ''Vampire!'' and ''Vixen''. Biography Gerald Carr, born in Bendigo, Victoria in 1944 and studied art at thBendigo Institute of Technology He later moved to Sydney, where he entered into the comic book industry, working for Walter Grainger Publications, which were the Australian distributors of the Disney line of comics, as a letterist (the imported comics were using Italian artwork but required English text). In 1967 Carr returned to Melbourne, where he was employed by an advertising agency and a printing company. He had his first comic strip, ''Brigette'', published in ''Go-Set'' magazine, between October 1968 and May 1969. Brigette was a contemporary Australian heroine, who was coming of age, in a time of changing social and sexual attitudes.
