Ger Collins
Ger Collins (born 13 July 1999) is an Irish hurler who plays as a goalkeeper for Cork Premier Championship club Ballinhassig and at inter-county level with the Cork senior hurling team. Playing career Ballinhassig Collins joined the Ballinhassig club at a young age and played in all grades at juvenile and underage levels as a hurler and Gaelic footballer. On 16 September 2018, Collins made his first appearance for Ballinhassig's top adult team when he lined out in goal for their 1-22 to 0-14 defeat by Valley Rovers in the Premier Intermediate Championship. Cork Minor Collins first lined out for Cork as a member of the minor team during the 2016 Munster Championship. He made his first appearance in goal on 6 April in a 0-17 to 1-10 defeat of Waterford. Ballinhassig
Ballinhassig () is a village in County Cork, Ireland, situated south of Cork City just off the N71 Bandon road and near the source of the River Owenabue (''Abhainn Bui'', meaning "Yellow River"). Traditionally an agricultural area, Ballinhassig has seen some growth as a commuter area, being close to Cork city. This growth saw the construction of new houses during the Irish construction boom of the early 21st century. History There are a number of prehistoric ringforts around Ballinhassig. Mountjoy, the Lord Deputy of Ireland, camped locally with his army of 4,000 troops on the night before the Battle of Kinsale in 1601. The 2019 Cork Senior Hurling Championship was the 131st staging of the Cork Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887. The draw for the 2019 opening round fixtures took place on 15 January 2019. The championship began on 26 March 2019 and ended on 20 October 2019. The final was played at Páirc Uí Rinn in Cork, between defending champions Imokilly and Glen Rovers, in what was their first meeting in a final in 70 years. Original venue, Páirc Uí Chaoimh, was deemed unplayable due to an unsatisfactory playing surface. Imokilly won the match by 2-17 to 1-16 to claim their sixth championship title overall and a first three-in-a-row of titles since St. Finbarr's in 1982. The Cork Premier Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Co-Op Superstores Cork Premier Senior Hurling Championship and abbreviated to the Cork PSHC) is an annual club hurling competition organised by the Cork County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the top-ranking senior clubs and amalgamated teams in the county of Cork in Ireland, deciding the competition winners through a group and knockout format. The 2019 Cork Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship was the 16th staging of the Cork Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 2004. The draw for the opening round fixtures took place on 15 January 2019. The championship began on 19 April 2019 and ended on 12 October 2019. On 12 October 2019, Fr. The 2018 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 131st staging of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. It is the first tier of senior inter-county championship hurling. The championship began on 12 May 2018 and ended on 19 August 2018. The draw for the championship round-robin fixtures was held off camera on 19 October 2017 and announced on the championship draw broadcast on RTÉ2. The Championship was won by Limerick, who were crowned champions after overcoming Galway in the final by a score line of 3–16 to 2-18. The 2019 All-Ireland Under-20 Hurling Championship was the inaugural staging of the All-Ireland Under-20 Championship and the 56th staging overall of a hurling championship for players between the minor and senior grades. Prior to 2019 an All-Ireland Under-21 Championship was held. The championship began on 25 May 2019 and ended on 24 August 2019. Tipperary were the defending champions.
