Georgios Magiras
Georgios Simos or Charalampous ( el, Γιώργος "Mάγειρας" Σίμος ή Χαραλάμπους; 1919 – 12 February 1994), commonly known as "Magiras" (Which meant "Cooker", a nickname that followed him throughout his career, on the occasion of the fact that his grandfather maintained a cooking restaurant in Naxos), was a Greek professional footballer who played as a midfielder for AEK Athens and a manager. Club career Mageiras started football in 1931 from Eleftheroupoli and in 1933 he joined AEK Athens, at the age of 14 and in the first years, was a member of their academies, with teammates such as Kleanthis Maropoulos and Tryfon Tzanetis, with whom he later coexisted in the first team. He was part of the club that won the Panhellenic Championship and Greek Cup in 1939. Mageiras retired from football in 1949 after a serious injury in the Cup final against Panathinaikos on 19 June. Urla, İzmir
Urla (, Vourlá) is a town and the center of the district of the same name in İzmir Province, in Turkey. The district center is located in the middle of the isthmus of a small peninsula which protrudes northwards in the Gulf of İzmir, but its urban tissue is comparatively loose and extends eastwards to touch the coast and to cover a wide area which also includes a large portion of the peninsula. Kleanthis Maropoulos ( el, Κλεάνθης Μαρόπουλος; 1919 – 3 January 1991) was a Greek footballer who played as a striker for AEK Athens He was a star footballer during the 1930's and 1940's and arguably the greatest Greek player of his generation. He was affectionately known as the ''"Blonde Eagle of AEK"'' ''( el, "Ξανθός Αετός της ΑΕΚ")''. 1939–40 Panhellenic Championship
The 1939–40 Panhellenic Championship was the 11th season of the highest football league of Greece and the last before the WW2 took place. It was carried out with a system similar to that of the previous season in which 14 teams participated again, 8 from the Cental and 6 from Northern Greece, which were divided into groups. As in the previous year, in order to complete the championship, since it took a total of 30 matchdays, the teams that qualified for the national championship did not compete with each other again but transferred the mutual results of the local championships. Kostas Negrepontis
Kostas Negrepontis ( el, Κώστας Νεγρεπόντης; 31 October 1897 – 19 February 1973) was a Greek footballer who played as a center forward in the 1920's and 1930's and a later manager. He was considered a great virtuoso of the ball, a football intelligence and a great shooter. He was a figure and was so dear to his fellows that never left their memory.
