Georgina Morgan
Georgina Morgan (born 15 May 1993) is an Australian field hockey player. She represented her country at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Early life Morgan was born in Armidale, New South Wales. She began playing hockey when she was six years old. Education Morgan is currently studying at the University of Sydney, completing a Bachelor of Applied Science, majoring in Exercise Physiology. Career State hockey As of 2018, Morgan represents her home state, New South Wales in the Australian Hockey League. Most recently winning a gold medal with the side in the 2018 edition of the event. National team Morgan made her senior international debut in 2014, in a test series against New Zealand, in Wellington, New Zealand. Armidale is a city in the Northern Tablelands, New South Wales, Australia. Armidale had a population of 24,504 as of June 2018. Estimated resident population, 30 June 2018. Perth Hockey Stadium is Western Australia's premier hockey facility, with two world-class synthetic turf pitches, a large bar and canteen area and a function centre all available to the public. The venue holds up to 6,000 fans. The Perth Hockey Stadium (PHS) is located at the Curtin University in the south eastern suburb of Bentley, Western Australia. Estadio Mundialista Luciana Aymar is a field hockey stadium in Rosario, Argentina. It was specifically built to host the 2010 Women's Hockey World Cup, with a capacity of 12,000 with mobile grandstands. The stadium changed its name in 2015 to honor Luciana Aymar, widely regarded as the best Argentine femmale hockey player ever. After it was announced the stadium would be the venue for the 2012 Women's Hockey Champions Trophy, a permanent grandstand was built on one of the sides of the pitch with 1,400 seats plus the mobile grandstands as previously erected for the World Cup for a total capacity of 6,200. The 2018 Women's Hockey World Cup was the 14th edition of the Women's Hockey World Cup, a field hockey tournament. It was held from 21 July to 5 August 2018 at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre in London, England. Defending champions the Netherlands won the tournament for an eighth time after defeating Ireland 6–0 in the final, who claimed their first World Cup medal. Spain won the third place match by defeating Australia 3–1 to claim their first World Cup medal as well.
