Georgina Coleridge
Marguerite Georgina Christine Coleridge ( Hay; 19 March 1916 – 25 March 2003) was a Scottish journalist, magazine editor and publishing executive. She began her journalistic career as a freelance contributor to ''Harper's Bazaar'' in 1936 before working for the National Magazine Company until the outbreak of the Second World War. Coleridge worked for '' Country Life'' and later ''Homes & Gardens'' as part of its editorial staff until 1963. She co-founded the Women of the Year Lunch in 1955 aiming to honour the achievements of women's success in arts, the professions and science in a "man's world". Coleridge was director of both Country Life Ltd and George Newnes Ltd as well as being IPC Women's Magazines's director of special projects from 1971 to 1974. She was the author of two books. East Lothian
East Lothian (; sco, East Lowden; gd, Lodainn an Ear) is one of the 32 council areas of Scotland, as well as a historic county, registration county and lieutenancy area. The county was called Haddingtonshire until 1921. In 1975, the historic county was incorporated for local government purposes into Lothian Region as East Lothian District, with some slight alterations of its boundaries. The Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994 later created East Lothian as one of 32 modern council areas. East Lothian lies south of the Firth of Forth in the eastern central Lowlands of Scotland. It borders Edinburgh to the west, Midlothian to the south-west and the Scottish Borders to the south. Navy, Army And Air Force Institutes
The Navy, Army and Air Force Institutes (NAAFI ) is a company created by the British government on 9 December 1920 to run recreational establishments needed by the British Armed Forces, and to sell goods to servicemen and their families. It runs clubs, bars, shops, supermarkets, launderettes, restaurants, cafés and other facilities on most British military bases and also canteens on board Royal Navy ships. Commissioned officers are not usually supposed to use the NAAFI clubs and bars, since their messes provide these facilities and their entry, except on official business, is considered to be an intrusion into junior ranks' private lives. NAAFI personnel serving aboard ship are part of the Naval Canteen Service (NCS), wear naval uniform and have action stations, but remain ordinary civilians.
