State Route 231 (SR 231) is a north-south state highway in the central part of the U.S. state of Georgia. It travels entirely within Washington County. It serves as a ''de facto'' bypass or alternate route for travelers who desired to bypass Sandersville. Route description SR 231 begins at an intersection with SR 15 southwest of Harrison. Here, the roadway continues as Harts Ford Road. The highway travels northeast, traveling through Harrison. It continues northeast and turns north, until it reaches the town of Riddleville. In Riddleville, it heads northeast, intersecting SR 242 (Bartow Road). The route heads north-northeast and turns northeast to Davisboro, where it intersects SR 24 just before leaving town. State Route 242 (SR 242) is a east–west state highway located in the central part of the U.S. state of Georgia. It travels through portions of Washington and Jefferson counties. Route description SR 242 begins at an intersection with SR 24/ SR 540 (Fall Line Freeway) in Sandersville in Washington County. The highway makes a quick turn towards downtown Sandersville as SR 242 Spur continues straight. The highway turns south onto SR 15 in the center of the city. After a concurrency with SR 15, SR 242 turns east at Riddleville Road. The highway heads out of the city in a southeastern direction. State Route 24 (SR 24) is a state highway that travels south-to-north in an S-shaped curve through portions of Bulloch, Screven, Burke, Jefferson, Washington, Baldwin, Putnam, Morgan, and Oconee counties in the east-central part of the U.S. state of Georgia. The highway connects Statesboro with the Watkinsville area, via Waynesboro, Louisville, Sandersville, Milledgeville, Eatonton, and Madison. SR 24 was originally designated from Statesboro to Millen, on a different path than it currently travels. After it was shifted onto part of its current path, it was gradually extended in both directions. It was also extended from Watkinsville to Athens and then Commerce. Fall Line Freeway
The Fall Line Freeway (FLF; also signed as State Route 540 (SR 540)) is a highway designed to span the width of the U.S. state of Georgia from Columbus at the Alabama state line to Augusta, travelling through several cities including Macon, Fort Valley, Sandersville, and Wrens. Though it is called a freeway, it is composed of both limited-access and high-speed divided highway portions. There are also two segments of the highway that are two lanes, separated by a center turn lane: a brief portion in west-central Washington County (west of Sandersville) and another brief portion in northern Jefferson County (completely within the city limits of Wrens). As of August 2018, the Fall Line Freeway is 100% open to traffic. Between August 2017 and July 2018, the highway was completed. This route is part of a multi two-state route 15 that begins at Florida and ends at Georgia at the North Carolina state line.
