Route description SR 138 begins at an intersection with SR 92 (West Campbellton Street) in Fairburn, within Fulton County. In town, it heads southeast to US 29/ SR 14 (Roosevelt Highway). Fairburn, Georgia
Fairburn is a city in Fulton County, Georgia, United States, with a population of 12,950, according to the 2010 census. Though it has a rich history of its own, the city is now a closely linked suburb of Atlanta, which lies just 17 miles to the north. History Fairburn is located along a railroad line and was the county seat of Campbell County starting in 1871. It was chosen as county seat in a referendum in 1871 that was spurred by the original seat of Campbellton refusing to allow the Atlanta & West Point Railroad line through on account of the anticipated noise in the 1850s. The railroad instead passed through Fairburn. Campbellton then faded away as Fairburn grew. The government of Campbell County went bankrupt in 1931 during the Great Depression and, along with Milton County to the north, was absorbed into Fulton County when 1932 began. State Route 54 (SR 54) is a state highway that travels southwest-to-northeast through portions of Troup, Meriwether, Coweta, Fayette, Clayton, and Fulton counties in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. State Route 3 (SR 3) is a state highway that travels south-to-north through portions of the western part of the U.S. state of Georgia, roughly paralleling Interstate 75 (I-75). The highway travels from its southern terminus at the Florida state line, where SR 3 and SR 300 both reach their southern terminus, concurrent with US 19. Here, US 19 travels concurrent with State Road 57, south-southeast of Thomasville. State Route 314 (SR 314) is a state highway in the west-central part of the U.S. state of Georgia. It travels from SR 85 in Fayetteville to SR 139 in College Park, on the southwestern edge of the Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport. It is known as West Fayetteville Road for its entire length. Route description SR 314 begins at an intersection with SR 85 (Glynn Street N.) in Fayetteville. A tripoint, trijunction, triple point, or tri-border area is a geographical point at which the boundaries of three countries or subnational entities meet. There are 175 international tripoints as of 2020. Nearly half are situated in rivers, lakes or seas. State Route 279 (SR 279) is a south-north state highway in the southwestern part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. Its routing is within northern Fayette and southern Fulton County. Route description SR 279 begins at an intersection with SR 85 northeast of Fayetteville. Here, the roadway continues to the east as Carnegie Place. It heads west, and then northwest, along Old National Highway to an intersection with SR 314 (W. Fayetteville Road). The route heads north west until it intersects SR 138 (Jonesboro Road). Interstate 85 In Georgia
Interstate 85 (I-85) is a major Interstate Highway that travels northeast–southwest in the US state of Georgia. It enters the state at the Alabama state line near West Point, and Lanett, Alabama, traveling through the Atlanta metropolitan area and to the South Carolina state line, where it crosses the Savannah River near Lake Hartwell. I-85 connects North Georgia with Montgomery, Alabama, to the southwest, and with South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia to the northeast. Within Georgia, I-85 is also designated as the unsigned State Route 403 (SR 403). I-85 in Georgia usually travels roughly parallel with the route of US Route 29 (US 29).
