State Route 110 (SR 110) is a state highway in the southeast part of the U.S. state of Georgia. The highway runs from a point east of Folkston, northeast to Woodbine, north to Waverly, and northwest to a point east of Hortense. Route description SR 110 begins at an intersection with SR 40 about east of Folkston. The route heads northeast to an intersection with US 17/ SR 25 in Woodbine. The three routes begin a concurrency to the north. Just after leaving the city, it crosses the Satilla River. In White Oak, SR 110 intersects SR 252. In Waverly, SR 110 departs the concurrency to the northwest. Folkston, Georgia
Folkston is a city in and the county seat of Charlton County, Georgia, United States. Folkston is in the Jacksonville Metropolitan Area. The population was 2,502 as of the 2010 census, up from 2,178 in 2000, largely due to the extension of the city boundary to include D. Ray James Prison. History Folkston was founded on August 19, 1911. The city was named in honor of William Brandon Folks, M.D., a prominent physician and surgeon in his day. In the years 1925 through 1927, many new and commodious residences were built and several modern brick buildings were erected, including the Citizen Bank Block, the Masonic Temple building, a grammar school building, and a courthouse. Shortly after its creation, the village of Folkston was incorporated as a town government and functioned as a town until 1911 when the area was incorporated as a city. Georgia State Route 32
State Route 32 (SR 32) is a state highway that travels west-to-east through portions of Terrell, Lee, Worth, Turner, Irwin, Coffee, Bacon, Pierce, Brantley, and Glynn counties in the southern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. The highway connects Dawson with Sterling, via Leesburg, Ashburn, Fitzgerald, Douglas, and Alma. Georgia State Route 520
State Route 520 (SR 520), also known as the South Georgia Parkway, is a state highway in the southern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. It travels from the Alabama state line, at the Chattahoochee River, on the Phenix City, Alabama–Columbus, Georgia line, to Jekyll Island. It has many concurrencies along its path, including U.S. Route 280 (US 280) from the Alabama state line to Richland; US 27 from Columbus to Cusseta; and especially US 82 from Dawson to a point southwest of Brunswick. The Satilla River rises in Ben Hill County, Georgia, United States, near the town of Fitzgerald, and flows in a mostly easterly direction to the Atlantic Ocean. A concurrency in a road network is an instance of one physical roadway bearing two or more different route numbers. When two roadways share the same right-of-way, it is sometimes called a common section or commons. Other terminology for a concurrency includes overlap, coincidence, duplex (two concurrent routes), triplex (three concurrent routes), multiplex (any number of concurrent routes), dual routing or triple routing. Concurrent numbering can become very common in jurisdictions that allow it. Georgia State Route 25
State Route 25 (SR 25) is a state highway in the eastern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. It travels south-to-north near the Atlantic Ocean, serving the Brunswick and Savannah metropolitan areas on its path from the Florida state line at the St. Marys River to the South Carolina state line at the Little Back River, a channel of the Savannah River. State Route 40 (SR 40) is a state highway in the southeast part of the U.S. state of Georgia. The highway travels from US 1/ US 23/ US 301/ SR 4/ SR 15 in Folkston east to Church Street in St. Marys. Woodbine, Georgia
Woodbine is a city in, and the county seat of, Camden County, Georgia, United States, an original county established when the state constitution was adopted in 1777. The population was 1,412 at the 2010 census. The East Coast Greenway, a 3,000 mile long system of trails connecting Maine to Florida, runs along the Woodbine Riverwalk. Spaceport Camden is being developed adjacent to the city. History Records in 1765 show that John Brown, John McGillvary, William Molyneaux and William Trowin petitioned English authorities for south of the Satilla River. They were granted the land named Pile's Bluff, which historians believe to be near Woodbine. A tract of land was granted to Anton Cunning by the state in 1808.
