Demir Hisar (region)
Demir Hisar ( mk, Демир Хисар), is an area spreading on the South West part of Macedonia to the North West of the Pelagonian plain, around the river flow of the Black River (''Crna Reka'') with her inflows. The greater parts of the surrounding area of Demir Hisar are smaller hills and mountains, and a small part which is spread around the mentioned river is low lands. A signature of this area are the mountains Bigla, Ilinska and Plakenska, on which is the highest peak reaching 2000 m which separates the region of Demir Hisar with the lake regions of Prespa and Ohrid. Name The name of Demir Hisar derives from the treasure of iron which the surrounding mountains in this region have, which is why it is called ''Iron Fortress''. Cheta (armed Group)
A cheta ( sq, çeta; rup, ceatã; bg, чета; gr, τσέτης; ro, ceată; tr, çete; sr, чета / ), in plural chetas, was an armed band organized by the mostly Bulgarian, Serbian, Albanian, Greek, Aromanian and Megleno-Romanian population on the territory of the Ottoman Empire that undertook anti-Ottoman activity. The cheta was usually led by a leader, called voivoda. The members of the chetas were called chetniks. Mariovo
Mariovo ( mk, Мариово) is a historic region in the southern part of North Macedonia, with an area of 1,390 square km and an elevation 1,050 m, situated among mountains. Ivan Naumov ( bg, Иван Наумов), nicknamed Alyabaka or Alyabako was a Bulgarian revolutionary, a member of the Internal Macedonian-Adrianople Revolutionary Organization (IMARO). Biography Ivan Naumov was born in the village of Oraovec, Veles region, in a poor family. Because of the lack of finances, he was not able to study and went to work in Thessaloniki. There he learnt about the ideas of the revolutionary organization IMARO and in 1900 he was invited to join the organization by Mihail Apostolov Popeto. He worked as a grocer in Drama and Kavala. Stoyan Avramov described Ivan Naumov as follows: In 1902 he killed a Turk and escaped to Sofia. The same year, he returned as a freedom fighter in the regions of Odrin and Pashmakli.
