Georgi Markov ( bg, Георги Марков, born 12 March 1978 in Burgas) is a retired male weightlifter from Bulgaria. He won the silver medal in the men's lightweight division (– 69 kg) at the 2000 Summer Olympics, behind compatriot Galabin Boevski Galabin Boevski ( bg, Гълъбин Боевски, born 19 December 1974) is a Bulgarian weightlifter. Olympic weightlifting, or Olympic-style weightlifting (officially named Weightlifting), is a sport in which athletes compete in lifting a barbell loaded with weight plates from the ground to overhead, with each athlete trying to successfully lift the heaviest weights. Athletes compete in two specific ways of lifting the barbell overhead: these are the snatch and the clean and jerk.
