Friedrich Von Georgi
Friedrich Freiherr von Georgi (27 January 1852 – 1926) was a General of the Austro-Hungarian Army. Biography He was born in Prague,Georgi, Friedrich Freiherr von, Austrian Biographical Dictionary 1815-1950 (1957) Volume 1, published by the Austrian Academy of Sciences, Vienna. then part of Bohemia. The son of a military Colonel, von Georgi was born into a noble family which originally came from Saxony. He attended the Theresian Cadet Academy at Hainburg. After completing his education on 1 September 1871, he was commissioned as a Lieutenant in Feldjäger Bataillon No.6. In May 1877, von Georgi married Bertha Stamm. Together they had four children, though two of them died in infancy. From 1879 to 1881 he joined a military academy in Vienna. Howard Georgi
Howard Mason Georgi III (born January 6, 1947) is an American theoretical physicist and the Mallinckrodt Professor of Physics and Harvard College Professor at Harvard University. He is also Director of Undergraduate Studies in Physics. He was Co-Master and then Faculty Dean of Leverett House with his wife, Ann Blake Georgi, from 1998 to 2018. His early work was in Grand Unification and gauge coupling unification within SU(5) and SO(10) groups (see Georgi–Glashow model). Education Georgi graduated from Pingry School in 1964, graduated from Harvard College in 1967 and obtained his Ph.D. from Yale University in 1971. Johann Gottlieb Georgi
Johann Gottlieb Georgi (31 December 1729 – 27 October 1802) was a German botanist, naturalist and geographer. A native of Pomerania, Georgi accompanied both Johan Peter Falk and Peter Simon Pallas on their respective journeys through Siberia. During 1770-1774 he travelled on its behalf to Astrakhan, the Urals, Bashkir, the Barabinsk steppe, the Kolyvanskoe silver mines (to assess the ore content), Altai, Tomsk, Irkutsk, Baikal, and Dauren. In 1783 he became an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences in St Petersburg. Georgi was particularly interested in the Baikal region. Based on collections from far eastern Russia, in his 1775 publication ''Bemerkungen einer Reise im Russischen Reich im Jahre 1772'', Georgi provided the first botanical descriptions of many of the region's flowering plants, among them the Baikal skullcap (''Scutellaria baicalensis''). Pfeiffer Zara Georgi (born 27 September 2000) is an English professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . She won the 2021 British National Road Race Championships. In 2017 she won the Gent–Wevelgem junior race and came second overall in the EPZ Omloop van Borsele. Susanne Georgi Nielsen (born 27 July 1976 in Sjølund), commonly known as Susanne Georgi, is a Danish singer who lives and works in Andorra and represented the country in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009. Career Georgi started her career along with her sister in the duo Me & My; the group had a couple of hits around Europe. Yvonne Georgi (29 October 1903 – 25 January 1975) was a German dancer, choreographer and ballet mistress. She was known for her comedic talents and her extraordinary jumping ability. In her roles as a dancer, choreographer, and ballet mistress, she was an influential figure in dance for decades. Biography Georgi was born in Leipzig, Germany on 29 October 1903. She did not have any formal training in dance until she was seventeen and was "discovered" during a performance at a friend's home. Though she had initially planned to study librarianship, she soon realized She went on to study at the Dalcroze Institute in Hellerau in 1920 and then the Wigman School in Dresden in 1921.
