Georgetown Raiders Sr A
The Georgetown Raiders were an ice hockey team from Georgetown, Ontario, Canada. They competed in the OHA Senior A and Intermediate A ranks in the 1970s and 1980s. The Raiders won the W.G. Hardy Trophy, also known as the Hardy Cup, as the Canadian Intermediate A champions in 1982. They are not known to be connected to another Georgetown Raiders team which is currently a member of the Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League. History Georgetown was an entry in the Niagara District Intermediate A Hockey League, which folded in 1979. Georgetown was one of two teams from that loop (the Dundas Merchants were the other) to be accepted into the Georgian Bay Intermediate A league, with which the Niagara league had played an interlocking schedule. Georgetown is a large unincorporated community in the town of Halton Hills, Ontario, Canada, in the Regional Municipality of Halton. The town includes several small villages or settlements such as Norval, Limehouse, Stewarttown and Glen Williams near Georgetown and another large population centre, Acton. Owen Sound Greys
The Owen Sound Greys were a series of junior ice hockey teams based in Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada. They played in the Mid-Western division of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League. The original Greys, in their early years, won the 1924 and 1927 Memorial Cups as Dominion Junior Hockey Champions. The Greys were controversially moved to Brampton, Ontario, in the summer of 2012 after years of financial trouble. The Greys had survived in three different forms over the years. The Original Greys lasted from 1913 until 1977, winning two Memorial Cups and folding in the ashes of the Southern Ontario Junior A Hockey League. The Dundas Real McCoys are a Canadian senior ice hockey team based in Dundas, Ontario. They play in the Ontario Hockey Association's Major League Hockey. The Real McCoys have won two National Championships, winning the 1986 Hardy Cup as Canadian Senior "AA" Champions and hosting and winning the 2014 Allan Cup as Canadian Senior "AAA" Champions. History The Real McCoys were once members of the Major Intermediate A Hockey League as the Dundas Merchants, and as the Dundas-Hamilton Tigers. The Tigers won the J. Ross Robertson Cup in 1985 as the league's playoffs champions. The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) is a Junior A ice hockey league in Ontario, Canada. It is under the supervision of the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) and the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL). The league was listed as the 7th best developmental league in North America for professional and amateur ice hockey in July 2013 by the website, "TheHockeyWriters.com". The league dates back to 1954 where it began as the "Central Junior B Hockey League".
