George Tidy
George Thomas Tidy (28 July 1930 – 12 February 2023) was a Scottish Association football, footballer who played as a Goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper during the 1950s. Although he initially started as a centre-half with Royston Rosebery in 1946, he played in goal shortly before being transferred to Edinburgh City F.C. (1928), Edinburgh City during the 1949–50 season. He joined Dunfermline Athletic F.C., Dunfermline Athletic at the start of the 1951–52 season, who at the time were in the Scottish Football League "B" Division. He made eleven first-team appearances; 9 in the league and 2 in the Supplementary Cup before moving on to Brechin City F.C., Brechin City at the start of the 1952–53 season. Tidy was part of the Brechin City team which won the Scottish Football League "C" Division Championship title in the 1953–54 season and was the youngest member of the team. Arniston Rangers Football Club are a Scottish football club, based in the town of Gorebridge. They play in the East of Scotland Football League (Second Division), having moved from the SJFA East Region Premier League in 2018. The Scottish Football League Third Division was the fourth tier of the Scottish football league system between 1994 and 2013. History The Scottish football league system had operated with three divisions in the Scottish Football League (SFL) from 1975. In 1994, as part of reconstruction to allow the admission of Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Ross County to the league, the SFL was recalibrated to give four divisions of 10 teams. The fourth tier was named the Third Division. In 1998, the Premier Division (top flight) clubs broke away to form the Scottish Premier League (SPL).
