George Manners-Sutton
George Manners-Sutton (1 August 1751 – 15 February 1804) was a British politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1774 to 1804. Manners-Sutton was the eldest son of Lord George Manners-Sutton and educated at Eton School and Trinity College, Cambridge. He succeeded his father in 1783, inheriting Kelham Hall near Newark. He was returned as Member of Parliament for Newark from 1774 to 1780, and then for Grantham, a Manners family borough, until 1802, when he was returned for Bramber Bramber is a former manor, village and civil parish in the Horsham District of West Sussex, England. It has a ruined mediaeval castle which was the ''caput'' of a large feudal barony. Bramber is located on the northern edge of the South Downs .... Lord George Manners-Sutton (8 March 1723 – 7 January 1783, Kelham Hall), born Lord George Manners, was a British nobleman and politician, the third son of John Manners, 3rd Duke of Rutland. George Morris Sutton
Sir George Morris Sutton (8 July 1834 – 30 November 1913) was a South African politician and farmer. Born in Britain, he served as the Prime Minister of the British Colony of Natal from 18 August 1903 to 16 May 1905. Biography Sutton was born on 8 July 1834 in Crowland, Lincolnshire to Joseph Sutton and Elizabeth Price (née Cherrington). In 1854 he emigrated to the United States, where in 1859 he married Harriett Burkitt, mother of his two sons. After living for some years in Chicago, Illinois, Sutton emigrated to the British Crown Colony of Natal in South Africa, arriving in Durban, Natal on 10 May 1872. He was married a second time to Mary Pascoe in 1881, and bought several farms including Stocklands, Oaklands, Fairfell, and Everdon in the Karkloof Forest outside the village of Howick. Sutton lived and farmed for many years, contributing considerably to the agricultural knowledge of the Colony by writing in '' The Natal Witness'' under the penname "Agricola". He exported ... There have been four baronetcies created for persons with the surname Sutton, one in the Baronetage of Great Britain and three in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom. George Sutton, Sr (15 September 1922 – December 1995) was a Welsh boxer who held the Welsh flyweight title on two occasions. His brother, Jackie Sutton, also held a Wales boxing belt and his son, George Jr, contested the British Bantamweight title. George Sutton (judge)
George Gerard Sutton KC (17 June 1880 – 27 December 1955) was a South African judge and Judge President of the Cape Provincial Division of the Supreme Court. Early life Sutton was born on the Farm, Klip River in the Swellendam district, the second son of the Reverend Joseph George Sutton and Catharina Benedicta Sutton (née Reitz). The Rev Sutton became the headmaster of Dale College in June 1890. George was educated at Dale College and also at the Manchester Grammar School. He then continued as a Scholar of Emmanuel College, Cambridge, and achieved a double first in the Law Tripos. Career After graduating in 1903, he was called to the Middle Temple, London in June 1903. Later in 1903 he returned to South Africa and started practice at the Cape Bar in October. In 1921 he took silk and was appointed a puisne judge at the Cape Provincial Division in February 1929. George Miksch Sutton
George Miksch Sutton (May 16, 1898, Bethany, Nebraska – December 7, 1982) was an American ornithologist and bird artist. He published numerous technical papers in ornithology as well as more popular works illustrated with his own art. His early artistic work was inspired and tutored by Louis Agassiz Fuertes. In 1931, he was the first ornithologist to find the eggs of the Harris's sparrow, one of the last North American birds to have its nest and eggs described. In 1935. he was part of the team of Arthur Augustus Allen during an expedition to the Singer Tract in Louisiana to make sketches of ivory-billed woodpecker. He did extensive field work in the Arctic (including Iceland), Oklahoma, Labrador, and Mexico. He received his doctorate from Cornell University and held academic posts at the University of Michigan and the University of Oklahoma, Norman. The George M.
