George Schlack House
George Schlack House is a historic home located near Ridgeway, Berkeley County, West Virginia. It was built in 1913 and is a -story rectangular Colonial Revival style dwelling built of concrete block and finished in rock-faced concrete block. It is five bays in width and four bays deep with a truncated hipped roof and denticulated trim. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008. Berkeley County is located in the Shenandoah Valley in the Eastern Panhandle region of West Virginia in the United States. The county is part of the Hagerstown- Martinsburg, MD- WV Metropolitan Statistical Area. Colonial Revival Architecture
The Colonial Revival architectural style seeks to revive elements of American colonial architecture. The beginnings of the Colonial Revival style are often attributed to the Centennial Exhibition of 1876, which reawakened Americans to the architectural traditions of their colonial past. Fairly small numbers of Colonial Revival homes were built c. 1880–1910, a period when Queen Anne-style architecture was dominant in the United States.
