George Nicholas (politician)
George Nicholas ( 1754 – July 25, 1799) was an American lawyer, planter, patriot, military officer and politician who helped to write the first Kentucky constitution and became the first professor of law at Transylvania University. He also briefly served as Attorney General of Kentucky, and several terms in the Virginia House of Delegates. Early and family life Nicholas was born in Williamsburg in the Colony of Virginia in 1754. The firstborn son of prominent lawyer Robert Carter Nicholas Sr. and his wife Ann Cary was born into the First Families of Virginia, and named after an uncle who had served in the House of Burgesses, representing the College of William and Mary. He would have ten siblings (of whom seven reached adulthood). George Nicholas (footballer)
George Anton Nicholas (born 19 December 1992) is an English semi-professional footballer. He currently plays for Isthmian League side Northwood who he rejoined in 2023. Nicholas also had a short stint at Wealdstone who he joined following his release from Notts County, before spending three years at Northwood, one with Harrow Borough and three with Potters Bar Town and Hanwell Town. Career Nicholas made his debut for Notts County on 7 May 2011 in a 1–1 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion. In September, he joined Lewes on loan, initially for a monthlong period. In May 2012 he was released by Notts County, along with 12 other players. He signed for Wealdstone after impressing during the 2012-13 pre-season and made three league substitute appearances for the club. George Nicholas was an American animator, known for his work at Disney and Hanna-Barbera. Biography Nicholas was born in Vermilion, Ohio, and moved to Los Angeles with his parents when he was 10. His earliest job as a professional animator was working for Walter Lantz in 1932. In 2016, the founder of the Society for Animation Studies Harvey Deneroff stated that Nicholas's early work for Disney was on Goofy and Pluto short films. Among his later Disney credits were '' Lady and the Tramp'', '' Cinderella'', and '' One Hundred and One Dalmatians''. For Hanna-Barbera, he worked on '' The Flintstones'' TV series and the feature film ''The Man Called Flintstone'', as well as The Jetsons TV series. Big Nick Nicholas
George Walker "Big Nick" Nicholas (August 2, 1922 – October 29, 1997) was an American jazz saxophonist and singer. Strongly influenced by his hero, Coleman Hawkins, Nicholas in turn influenced a young John Coltrane to compose his tribute "Big Nick", included on the 1962 album '' Duke Ellington & John Coltrane''. Nicholas contributed the 16-bar solo to Dizzy Gillespie's classic African-Cuban jazz piece "Manteca" (1947). At that time, he also started playing with Hot Lips Page, a working relationship that continued until 1954. He joined Buck Clayton in 1955. Nicholas started playing with Hank and Thad Jones, Earl Hines, and Tiny Bradshaw before going into the army and, on being discharged in the late 1940s, he worked with bands led by Sabby Lewis, J. C. Heard, and Lucky Millinder. He went on to play with Duke Ellington, Cab Calloway, Charlie Parker, and Charlie Mingus.
